It makes no sense to give guaranteed money to players in unemployment when seeing them opt out seeking for money from the same or a different team costs nothing.

A-Rod got to opt out in MLB and got a record $275 mil guaranteed for 10 years with a $25 million career home run record bonus.

Kobe Bryant opted out in 2004 and got the NBA contract record of $136 mil over 7 years.

Wanna prevent hold outs or face less risk of financial loss? Put an opt-out clause in!!!
