I love Ed Reed and he is the greatest safety to ever play, but he’s old and seems to have quit trying to even tackle. Combine that with Ozzie’s philosophy of “right player, right price” and the writing is on the wall for Ed Reed in Baltimore.

Also even though he is an all time NFL great, Reed’s mouth and aloofness seems to keep him out from being mentioned with Cal Ripken Jr, Ray Lewis and Johnny Unitas as being Baltimore sports legends. I think everyone is ready to move on from Ed Reed. He’ll fetch a good comp pick when some team grossly overpays him.

Ed is the one who looks finished, and the Ravens have shown that they will part ways with fan and organizational favorites if the money doesn’t make sense. Ed Reed’s contract is about to be up, and they need to get younger on defense.

Ray will leave when he is ready to leave.
