said interception was also a clear offensive pass interference, with Peterson grabbing Megatron’s inside arm, spinning him out of the route and grabbing the pass where Calvin would have been. Of course, the ref never saw it, but on replay it’s as plain as day….

A lot of people are hating on Peterson or just jealous. He is a class guy, gave Megatron nothing but respect before and after the game. He has a fitzgerald like work ethic and wants to be the best in the game.

In the 1st half against the lions, when peterson and megatron lines up 1 on 1. Megatron had 2 catches for a total of 16 yards, no first downs. Peterson at that time had an interception and a pass defended.

throught the game, Stafford went deep with peterson vs calvin about 6 times. Calvin had 1 catch. several of Calvins catches against peterson came when the game was over and they were playing off coverage. Peterson won the matchup that day. He didnt shut him out, but he won. The no.1 offense in the NFL had 10 points.

The only guy who has beat peterson this year is michael crabtree. Crabtree had 2 TDs vs peterson, the only 2 he has given up all season. Peterson was in position to stop both of them, he fell preveting the tackel on 1, the other crabtree made a great catch. Hats off to crabtree.

Peterson hasnt allowed a catch in 4 of his past 6 games. Revis is hurt this year, but based on who is playing right now this year, Peterson prob is the best corner in the nfl. Brian Billick has said it several time already.

PP bragged before the Lions game about how he would shut down Calvin Johnson (it was on PFT). Johnson had like 10 receptions for over 100 yards in that game. Then the very next week PP is saying he’s the best?

For my money I’m still taking Champ. He’s a little older sure and may not have the picks (due to the fact that QB’s avoid him like the plague) but his open field tackling and run defense is second to none.

And then people hate Sherman because they say he talks too much… at least he never says he’s the best corner in the league. Funny, he’s playing the best wide receivers but he never shuts them down. Darelle Revis never said he was the best, he let his play do the talking… This guy should do the same. Also this statement is pretty much coming out of nowhere, why would he be saying this now?

Jennings/Tillman aren’t getting torched. It’s the middle of the defense that is. It’s the bad nickel backs, Moore and Hayden and the Urlacher injury that’s allowing teams to burn them with slants and over the middle passing.

Lardarius Webb, up until his injury this year against the Cowboys, hadn’t given up a TD to the man he was covering since the beginning of the 2011 season. Thats almost a year and a half without allowing a TD.

Has Patrick Peterson done that?

Very good player but “best”? QBs tend to avoid throwing toward great CBs even if their best receiver is the target. His INT total is high. What’s the ratio?

Obviously not a Cards fan, but if I were I’d prefer the kid to say he is amongst the best. That leaves some room for improvement. Who was it that said “when you’re satisfied with your performance improvement has stopped.”?

Peterson is a beast no doubt, but Mochael Crabtree OWNS him every time they play. If the 9ers were more pass happy, Crabs would get 200 yards a game. He consistently makes Peterson look foolish

Revis is unquestionably the best corner in the NFL. If he had Deion Sanders’ speed, he may have become the best corner the league has ever seen.

Unless he is the best tackling cb, the best run defense cb, the best at intercepting and an overall team leader, he isn’t the best, yet. Being a fan of the NFC East, I’ve seen a lot of great cb’s over the years. Very few of them excelled in all of these categories.

I think PP is better overall, but Sherman is more consistent. CBs overall are overrated it’s all about the trenches
