APAfter the Seahawks and 49ers last met, San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh said he’d ask the league for guidance on the limits of permissible contact by defensive backs against receivers.
At the time Seahawks coach Pete Carroll chided Harbaugh, who previously had complained about perceived efforts by Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride to work the officials via the media.
More recently, Carroll said he saw nothing wrong with the way his team was playing, and that Harbaugh simply was looking for some help come round two.
“I did go back and look at the film to see what Jim was talking about,” Carroll told reporters via conference call, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area. “And I had trouble seeing why there was a complaint. But the fact that he did, he was just trying to get some help from the officials, I think.”
Harbaugh may not need much help. With cornerback Brandon Browner already serving a four-game suspension and with cornerback Richard Sherman’s appeal hearing set for Friday, there’s a chance the Seahawks could be without both players come Sunday night.

Ok Cheat Carroll we hear ya
Peter Carroll won’t stand for help from officials…
I can’t stand Harbaugh. I don’t know if I would like him as the coach of my favorite team. I would hate to be the official who has to stand next to Harbaugh for an entire game. The guy throws a fit when he gets the calls.
The Seahawk corners mugged the WR’s way past 5yds all night, so Harbaugh was right. Carroll just actually shut up and go pay college kids again
Sherman’s appeal won’t be decided until the league knows whether there’s a chance they’ll play the Giants in the playoffs.
Of course he does, hes a whiny little baby. The whole FortyWhiners organization are unclassy people.
Someone please remind Carrol of the help his team got against Green Bay. This guy is so annoying.
Browner missed the last two defensive beat downs. There is a lot more to that D than Sherman.
Well, that should send 49er fans into a tizzy, particularly since they accused the Patriots of getting help from the referees (although despite all that “help”, the Patriots still lost).
Now the Seahawks will lose.
You just the 49ers motivated Pete.
I hope they drop 70 on the Seahawks.
Of course Pete thinks that.. He also thought that the TD call on the GB game was a good call.. your credibility died right when you said that petey.
Funny, Petey talking about getting help from officials when the Seahawks biggest win this year came on a gift from the officials. Tool.
Browner and Sherman are both physical corners and use their size to their advantage. Most plays they pressing within 5 yards. If don’t have either I’m sure glad we have true depth with Lane/Maxwell getting some time because they will be tested if Thurmond and Trufant don’t heal up. I see Earl Thomas picking a few balls throws and eliminating mistakes, 49ers young QB stares down where he is throwing the ball.
If you havent noticed jim has complain about every good team before they play them. He should just coach his team and not the refs
Harbaugh is a baby. Both of them. They benefit from having so many outstanding players. Id like to see one of these whiners turn around a franchise like the colts.
What’s your deal, Jim?
Harbaugh needs to coach, not cry to the refs about every call. He complains constantly!
I can’t stand either of the Harbaugh’s, but especially Jim. He’s such a baby. Every single time the camera is put on him he is crying or whining to the officials about something. Even when they’re up 30 points. I can’t stand him.
It will be a matter of time before more of Petes Players get caught roiding up. He’s pretty good at working the Rules.

Harbaugh does everything for a reason and it’s rarely for the reason you think. He does nothing on accident.
The handshake this week should be classic.
The replays clearly showed 4 instances of illegal contact or pass interference. Even the announcers pointed them out.
Pete doesn’t see it? I’m sure Pete has trouble seeing why there was a complaint about his days at USC too.
If Harbaugh was concerned he would be consulting the league on permissible contact by wide receivers against defensive backs.
And Carroll needs to keep his mouth shut. Always trying to stir up something. Just coach your damned team.
Carroll also saw nothing wrong with the call at the end of the Packer game. Or Reggie Bush’s wallet at USC.
Man this is gonna be a great game
the seachicken dbs got away with murder in that game…this coming from the guy who celebrated a win that was gift wrapped by the officials like it was the super bowl…ironically that will be the closest feeling that the dusty old bone or seahawk fans will get to a super bowl this year
Pete ought to keep his mouth shut about this kind of stuff the week before the big game. But I’m glad he didn’t. Go 9ers.
Carroll is upset because Harbaugh has his number. Pete is a fraud.
right or wrong; This game should be great!
It’s great that the Niner fans are talking about the Hawks. At the beginning if the year, they wouldn’t even comment on this because they thought the Hawks would be awful. I found that funny as the Niners were the laughing stock (ok, maybe after Detroit and Cleveland) if the NFL for years until they had a good year last year.
I won’t pretend to know who will win Sunday night, but I hope the Hawks blow the doors off of SF. The Seahawks could go far this year. Or, they could lay an egg in the first round. Regardless who wins Sunday, I won’t be on here blaming everyone but the players as Niner fans surely will be if they lose.
You’d think ol’ Sneaky Pete would sort of simmer down when talking about Harbaugh…..considering Harbaugh’s teams have straight owned Caroll’s teams whether in college or the pros.

Harbaugh would just build it from the ground up. Just like he did at San Diego State, just like he did at Stanford.
Keep underestimating him, he is just as responsible for the 49ers success as the players.

Yes, playing against two of the worst teams in the NFL as a lot to do with that D.
As a Packer fan, I can’t believe I’m saying this…
Go Seahawks!!!
Sure, the Seahawks received an NFL-sanctioned, reviewed-and-upheld gift during the Green Bay game – to some degree there’s questionable officiating in just about every game. It’s time to let that go.
The difference is Carroll isn’t crying to the NFL office looking for favorable calls.
This is a non story…
Both harbag’s are sniveling whiners who pout when they lose and flaunt when they win. Jim has been a crybaby since his playing days. Both show no respect for traditional unwritten rules of competition. Ah but karma my little grasshopper is very powerful so beware harbag’s you are both overdue.
Neutral Fan….
But Harbaugh whines too much… all the time. He lost and his team was beat at point of attack. Learn from it
49ers win the re-match
Harbaugh is still annoying
winners celebrate. losers whine!!!!
Shame on you, Peter. Your record should be 8-6 if the official didn’t help you.
Hit for hit, See you in the trenches. Welcome to Centurylink. Enjoy your stay.
I think the Seahawks are cursed because of their ill gotten “win” against the Packers, and will never win a Superbowl. Ever.
And so far I’m right.
Harbaugh is great! It’s encouraging to see some people still have the passion and competitive nature that he does.
I find it humorous that he receives so many negative comments, when every other team’s coach isn’t a Saint either. No pun intended (Sean Payton)
I can see how people find him annoying, but it’s great for TV and drama involving the game. He is a winner, plain and simple.
Pete Carroll is no slouch when it comes to getting help from officials. Week 3 anyone?
I hope Harbaugh punches this clown in the face!
I’m really sick of Carroll. First, he cheats at USC and then leaves and lets them hang out in the wind. Then, he runs around like a little girl after the refs give him the game against the Packers instead of just shutting his mouth. Now he’s whining about a coach yelling at the refs. I’ve had girlfriends that were less maintenence than this guy.
Btw, BOTH of these coaches are whiners.
Funny stuff. I hope the Hawks lose, so much illegal contact every game…I dont know how they get away with it.
Oh look, Carrol is complaining about Harbaugh complaining. Hmm.
Carrol also complained to Harbaugh about running up the score on a game that ended 55-28, yet no problems with a fake punt while leading by 30 points. Hmm.
My God you Packers fans hold a grudge. The funniest part is you are angry at the wrong people. The Seahawks didn’t make the call. What should they have done? No we’ll just go ahead and make this a loss. We don’t want this win since we’ve never ever been jobbed by the officials…oh wait.
Both Hairbauhs cry each game for calls, doesn’t surprise no one.
Jim Harbuagh hasn’t even been in the league for 2 seasons, yet he has already established quite the reputation as a chronic complainer and drama queen. It’s a shame his antics and temper tantrums have overshadowed the fact he’s a very capable coach.
Looks like someone is upset there is a new GIANT in the NFL Sandbox. The Seattle Seahawks! Pete didn’t say it in a negative context. He was explaining it as part of Harbaugh’s strategy in pointing it out to the refs that Seattle’s DB’s are physical. Pete Carroll complements Harbaugh on the job he has done with the 49ers. Pete Carroll was approached by Harbaugh’s Wife & later Jim where the 3 talked football at a NFL league meeting this offseason. Primetime viewers be ready for some NBC camera cuts to Harbuagh looking like someone stole his bike, screaming about calls with tears coming down his face, looking flabbergasted, looking disappointed…The guy should be nominated for an Emmy for trying to influence officials each week. He’d probably complain about that too. Hate that guy

Actually, he doesn’t that much (or hasn’t when I’ve watched him). I’m a Pats fan and unfortunately I saw firsthand how he looked off the Pats safeties/CBs several times. He was impressive, very calm and poised and efficient. As is the QB of your Hawks.
This should be a spectacular game. I hope it’s a defensive battle since those are two of the best defenses in the NFL. Heaven knows I don’t get to see my team play in those much anymore. And when they do, they usually come out on the wrong end of them these days.

So true, but Carroll is at least as annoying as Harbaugh.
The difference is that Carroll is a certified scumbag.

Um…Did you not see the state of the Seahawks before Pete Carroll came to town?
Did you see the state of the Niners before Harbaugh came to town?
San Francisco was a joke and Seattle was crashing and burning. Colts have nothing on these teams or what these coaches have done for their franchises.
The irony in this thread is hilarious – Seahawks fans defending their cheating, scumbag coach for being a hypocrite, Lions fans calling Harbaugh a whiny baby(what’s the make Gym Shortz???) – it’s all truly great comedy!

I watched the game when he hit Moss, he was looking that way whole time. When he hit Walker, he was looking that way as well. Heath Evans did a segment called “Do Your Job” where he called out Pats Safeties confirming what I thought I had seen in slow motion.
You apparently didn’t watch closely themackstrong. On walkers td he looked left(Crabtree) middle( Vernon) and when the safety leaned a bit he threw right (walker). In that game and after the analysts complimented CK7s ability to go through his reads and look off coverage.
Think you were watching something else, bro.
