Tracy Porter forced to watch, and wait for chance

Broncos cornerback Tracy Porter hasn’t played in a game since Oct. 7, after he suffered symptoms similar to a previous seizure.

But that’s not what’s keeping him off the field now.

The emergence of cornerback Chris Harris has limited the need to rush Porter back, and has left him frustrated.

According to Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post, Porter posted then deleted some messages on Twitter that expressed his displeasure at his inactivity. He also deleted some photos of himself in Broncos gear that were once on the site.

Being on the shelf is certainly impacting his market, after signing a one-year deal with the Broncos (where the tide of Peyton Manning can lift all economic boats).

But Porter’s biggest problem may be the fact the Broncos have won nine in a row, and are 11-3. Coaches are creatures of habit, and John Fox in particular likes a good routine.

“As far as Tracy goes, they’re all competitors. They want to play,” Fox said. “He got injured or had an illness; some guys stepped in and did well. He just needs to focus on getting better every day. I saw good improvement last week. He went a month without playing. So he’s working his way back.

“When that’ll happen, I can’t honestly tell you. We’ll just evaluate it every day like we do every other football player on this team.”

So with Harris (who returned an interception 98 yards for a score last week) playing well, and Tony Carter not proving to be a liability, Porter could be on the outside looking in for some time, unless there’s an injury which gives him a Knowshon Moreno-like chance to get back in.

You see? Alex Smith isn’t the only one to lose his job because of injury. Happens all the time, whether right or wrong

You did just read he is only signed for 1 season right steel, why would any team trade for 2 games? Lay off the 420.

Send Tracy Porter back to the New Orleans Saints they don’t have respect for Saints players.

No need to change a good routine. We saw that earlier in the season with Woodyard taking DJ Williams’ starting spot. Both Woodyard and Harris have answered the call when needed, and they have since earne the starting spot.

He is just not very good. Made a name for himself by making one play his entire career. He got slaughtered when the Broncos played the Texans and I’m not surprised he lost his job.

Must be rough to sign a 1 year $4 million contract… shut your mouth Tracy and perform. Right now you are being outplayed by two UDFA’s in Chris Harris, and Tony Carter.

Wouldn’t it be funny if Peyton Manning just threw his way and beat him like crazy every practice, in payback for him getting that pick 6 in the Super Bowl against him? Haha!
