Whatever Dallas does, they need to avoid giving him a large signing bonus that would prevent them from cutting him if he reverts back to being the player he has been in the past. The Cowboys have been bit far too often by players that get paid after having stellar contract years.

he’s played very well this year, but I think anyone would be a fool to offer him a long time big money contract, because he is the poster boy for guys who put it all out there in their contract year……cue JJ signing him to a huge deal.

I hope Dallas franchises him again while keeping their eye out for a better option….jesus I wish we would have taken JJ Watt in the first instead of Tyron Smith, Tyron Smith is good, but jesus, if you added Watt to that front 7 they’d be deadly.

Spencer having a heck of a season but where has this been in the past? Question is will he continue to perform at this level after getting paid?

The concern is, will he play like this after he gets his payday? If Jones is smart (ha ha) he would start all new contracts with heavy incentives. Keep these guys hungry.

@lesliedevereaux , couldnt agree more, i honestly wanted us to go after another OLB this past offseason, spencer really stepped it up and i hope he continues to do so

As a Cows fan, I’ll be the first to admit that I did not want them to tag Spencer last off season. I am more than glad that they did, though. I guess Garrett knows what he’s talking about when he continuously says, “its a process.”
