And the players agreed to the way revenue was split in the CBA with the knowledge of that contract. So what’s your point?

I made my point. Where were you when the owners were crying broke and renegotiated the last CBA?

Yeah, but I doubt Gene Upshaw would have went for this. The players are enduring the pain of this deal with no grease for 3 season. That's the length of the average NFL players career. It still seems odd compared to BB and NBA contracts in leagues that generate less money. Yearly revenue NFL $11B, MLB $7B, NBA $4.3B

Can’t believe the crybaby Skin and Cowboy fans are still complaining about the cap penalty they received for trying to screw the other 29 or 30 teams!! Don’t you get it, The penalty was an adjustment to get the Skins and Cowboys to an equal playing field with the 29 teams they were trying to screw!
.................................................................................you must have been living under a rock when they got fined..there was also a floor some teams had to spend to make and didnt..where they fined no..other teams went above as well..did they get fined no..funny two divsion opponents did though..trying to get draft picks as well as a fine to prevent the skins from getting rg3..mara and the giants are cheating scum..granted there is a shot they make the playoffs..but with dallas and the skins doing great i doubt it..put that in your pipe and smoke it..

Me for one I'm glad the owners got over on the NFLPA. The NFLPA was stupid for taking money away from the cowboys & redskins because they actually spend money where the chiefs, bengals, & the rest of the owners who don't spend money. So did the players benefit from taking money from the 2 teams that spend. NFLPA DeMorris Smith got played by the owners. What a moron.

Look at the empty seats. Ticket prices are out of control. Going to an nfl game has changed from a family affair to a corporate world with companies holding psl's to wow customers. It's a status symbol to have season tickets to many teams.
Fan attendance is going down. The tv contract is already signed meaning that money is guaranteed and the best way to add to the pot now is sell more tickets.
Sorry nfl but you have priced so many families from the in game experience and this will only create a generation of children who have never been to a game or understand the in game experience. In 15 years these children that have become couch nfl fans are not going to be rushing out to buy tickets as they have never attended a game. It's a product of your own greed.
300-500 for a family of 4 to spend 3 hours at a game
78.38 is the average ticket price in the nfl. That's a min of 300 for a family of four for an "average" ticket. Does that sound like a number the average family can afford for 3 hrs. This don't count parking, food, etc.
