APAfter what was certainly “a lot of thought,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is letting Rashard Mendenhall out of the doghouse.
The pending free agent running back, who was suspended after bailing on his team the week before, will be active for today’s game against the Bengals, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
This will be the first time he’s dressed for a game since Nov. 25 in Cleveland, when two fumbles in four carries led to a benching, which led to the drama.
How he responds will give some degree of signal as to whether he has any future in Pittsburgh, though his recent comments make that seem like a long shot.

Hopefully he’ll publish a Twitter manifesto before kickoff.
This is good news for Cincy
They know they will need to run the ball to win because the Bengals’ DLine will be chasing Big Ben all day.
Geno Atkins for MVP!!!
Haha please make him active. Cincy D will eat him up. This Steeler team is a joke. Another home loss for their fans to watch them be eliminated from the playoffs. This is going to be awesome.
All of the Steelers running backs stink. The Bungles will find away to lose the game though.
