Patriots come out sleepwalking in Jacksonville

Apparently the Patriots needed more than a week to recover from their hard-fought loss to the 49ers.

In a game against the Jaguars that on paper looked like it should have been an easy win, the Patriots came out sleepwalking.

Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne picked apart New England’s secondary on the opening possession, marching Jacksonville down the field on a nine-play, 78-yard drive that culminated in a three-yard touchdown pass to Justin Blackmon.

And then it was Tom Brady’s turn, and Brady proceeded to throw an interception on his first pass. That set the Jaguars up for a field goal and an early 10-0 lead.

These are still the Jaguars and the Patriots, so a comeback is not just a possibility but a probability. And the Patriots did cut the deficit to 10-3 on their next possession. But Bill Belichick can’t be happy with the way his team came out of the gates this afternoon.

Sounds like a great example of overlooking your opponent, which I image would be easy to go against the Jags. That said I’m sure they’ll wake up soon.

@13arod, just what did they say? How were they running their mouths? OH, they weren’t. And it is now tied, so it is a long way from the Jags pulling out the upset.

The Patriots played two games worth of offense last week. No surprise they’re a little bit rusty today.

Apparently it doesn’t matter how well Henne plays because Tim Tebow will be handed the job next year.

Not a Pats fan, but any overlooking they’ve done was probably intentional. That’s how they roll.

@13arod the patriots don’t run their mouths so just what exactly are you talking about? The closest thing you will find is when Wes welker joked about Rex Ryan’s foot fetish and he was benched the very next game which was a pretty big game. If you wanna talk crap about NE that’s fine but don’t make stuff up that’s just ignorant. I smell a jealous jets fan

They played two great tough physical teams back to back.
