If any teams can draft a college player anywhere near Percy Harvins talent level/big play ability in the entire 1st or 2nd Rd., good luck. A former 1st (22nd) who dropped from pot use, and has never had a issue w/drugs while a pro. Young (24 yrs.), clean knees, and a beast on the field. Anything but a #1 is laughable, only the morons wish something Gold for their team for nothing. Vike’s GM will keep Percy if no #1. Thats OK.

I wouln’t be surprised if the Vikes send Percy to Miami. Dolphins need a #1 WR, Philbin knows him from playing against him when he was with the Packers, Dolphins have an extra 2nd round pick due to the Vontae Davis trade earlier in the season and the obvious Spielman/Dolphin connection. Vikes could use the money they save on Percy to sign either Bowe or Wallace in FA then draft another top reciever in 1rst or 2nd round in 2013.

You guys team make it sound easy. Harvin is not going anywhere. He wants too much for any team to take him and Vikings won’t give him up for anything but a first round pick. To remind you he is also a restricted free agent Vikings can just tag or let him go but like the Mike Wallace situation if he went to a different team they would give up there first round pick.

Are you really talking about Percy Harvin of the Vikings? After 4 years in the NFL, he doesn’t have even one 1000 yard receiving year to show for it.

Nor has he had a QB to throw him the ball other than Brett Favre his rookie season. Brett threw most of his passes to Sidney Rice so having a non 1000 yard season means nothing. If you watch Percy play, he plays with all heart and makes the most out of every play. Instead of looking at one statistic, look at the entire picture. Statistics don’t tell the entire story. Look at his kick return yardage. Look at his rushing yardage. Look at his YAC. It’s not his fault his current QB doesn’t know how to throw the ball more than 5 yards. Once you look all of that up then come speak your spew.

Percy was considered the MVP of the league by week 5… He is a game changer and there is no one else like him in the NFL… He obviously has his down sides but there are plenty of GM’s willing to take the risk and or think they can motivate / change him… Teams like the Raiders / Chargers / Jets easily come to mind as trading partners for top picks in the next draft or the jets with multiple picks!!!!! Percy will be franchised before they just “give” him away…. wake up people

Harvin and Favre still talk to each other. Favre recently called him and advised that he immediately begin to look for team that he would prefer to play on than his own.

He choked out one of his coaches in college. Frazier played the peacemaker when Childress was around. Now he cant get along with one of the easiest coaches in the world to get along with? He is gone, much as I hate that fact. Problem is everyone in the league knew this about him coming into the NFL and is has only gotten worse since he has been here. He could be going to the playoffs and instead is on injured reserve. He will find somewhere to go, but they would be idiots to give the Vikings that much or give him any kind of contract that his skills would be worth were it not for his mouth…

Percy is arguably the best athlete in the NFL. But having said that he is a huge crybaby and he’s never played a full 16 game season before. If you want to act like Randy Moss you have to produce like Randy Moss first.

Percy is on the verge of having one mediocre season and finding himself out of favor with coaches and GM’s everywhere. We’ve all seen it before. He’ll be traded, he’ll be good for a couple years, then he’ll be playing anywhere he can for the money he can get. They go from cant live without them to can’t remember them. Thats why I love this league.

I think Percy Harvin needs to channel his desire to win in the right way, and to have patience and remember it is a long season.

If the Vikings make the playoffs without Harvin, he may wish he played his cards differently. Perhaps he’ll realize that and resign with the Vikings.

as a Vikings fan I really want to keep Harvin but I do believe he could be worth more in a trade than his value is to the Vikings on the field…. Harvin is a game changer, just one that I don’t think is the best fit for the Vikings… We have our workhorse in AP /AD and we desperately need a #1WR but could easily be okay with us trading him for Multiple picks….. If they can trade him for a pick that would give them a chance at Manti Te’o or future picks with a team like the Jets / Jaguars / Raiders / Bills / etc….. make the trade

How can current players watch ex ballers such as TO, VY and Chad whose lives are spiraling out of control, PRIMARILY due to behavioral issues of their own choosing and learn absolutely NOTHING?! All three of these former players would give five years of their lives for one more year on an NFL roster, and Harvin can’t see himself in their examples. As the Billy Joel phrase goes: “Oh it’s good to be a young man and to live the life you please, yes a young man is the king of every kingdom that he sees, but there’s an old and feeble man not far behind and he surely will catch up to you somewhere along the line.” Percy–in the NFL it catches up MUCH more quickly, ESPECIALLY when you act the fool! Just ask the above three “old men.”

You just get the feeling Harvin is a ticking time bomb. There are stories about this guy during his time in Florida that are pretty reckless.

I would demand, minimum, a top ten pick for him. He is that good. Hopefully Peterson can maybe step in and calm Harvin down a little bit because he is a bundle of talent and elite skill.

As great as a talent as Percy Harvin is-he is flat out a pain in the ass. As a college football fanatic as well as NFL fanatic I have seen Harvin with these temp tantrums. Trade him and get value for him because he is not worth it. Isn’t he the one who grabbed his college position player by the throat? He’s another one of those many endless players who doesn’t realize how lucky he is to be in the position he is in today. I would like to see the Vikings go deep into the payoffs through some miracle of God just to show Percy Harvin how much the team does not need him and hopefully he can look in the mirror and see just what a pain in the butt jerk he really is!

A trade to the Patriots would be perfect. They know how to deal with egos, they’ll pay him, and he can step right in and replace Welker…plus the Pats would probably give up a first round pick for him. A win-win.

IF and that’s a big IF Harvin is traded, my money would be to a team like the Pats. Belichek has always cut players at a time when they seem to still have great value but are getting long in the tooth. Welker is the perfect example and the Pat’s franchised him last year, meaning they don’t want to give him the big money and long term contract. Harvin plays the slot like Welker and adds a dimension to the run game also. It would get Harvin out of the NFC and one of the Pat’s TE’s would be a great fit for Minny.
