Getty ImagesVikings running back Adrian Peterson missed practice time in the days preceding Sunday’s win over the Texans with a groin/abdomen injury. After the game, coach Leslie Frazier said that Peterson was held out of the game late because of an abdomen problem.
But Frazier was unequivocal in his comments to Peter King of Sports Illustrated, who reported during Football Night in America that Frazier said Peterson absolutely will play next Sunday against the Packers.
Peterson, who needs 208 rushing yards to set the single-season rushing record, racked up 210 yards earlier this month against the Packers in Green Bay.

MVP
Oh, and if Harrison Smith doesn’t make the pro bowl, it’s a crime.
Handle it AP
It was clear that he got hurt on his last carry, although the announcers missed it. Nobody is at 100% this time of year, but I suspect this injury is worse than the Vikings will let on to GB or anyone else.
Then again, the Packers don’t have Donald Driver, so it is kind of a wash.
Best RB in the league, absolutely. But can he really be MVP if the Vikings don’t end up making the playoffs? Not imho.
Packers 45 – 17.
And here is the excuse for Rockys wife if the cant get the record over the packers pathetic “defense”
M V Peterson
No kidding he will play. Who’s gonna tell him otherwise?
Play him until the game is won regardless of the situation!
Ohhhhhhh….. just short of the record, and a loss for the Vikings in their annual “SuperBowl” next Sunday. Good thing there are so many Maybe Next Year t-shirts still on the racks at Goodwill. Christmas is coming!
Best RB ever
I would love to see it happen for ap but if he is hurt and he got just a litle more then he needs last time he played him and green bay knows he is going for the record they might not want him to have it even if they are secured a spot. I do know sooner or later that record will fall. If not by AP then by someone else sometime. Sorry Eric Dickerson I know you wanted to keep that recond who wouldn’t but I think it will fall sooner or later
That’s going to be a tall order…would love to see it happen though. Hard not to root for a guy like AP.
Could this be the second season in a row that he can’t answer the final bell?
