It looks like about 30% of the people seem to agree with me. I’m sure the numbers are even stonger than that, and there are many reasons a check could have an issue beyond the fault of the drafter. That is what I am referring.

The Steelers-Ravens rivalry hasn’t been the same without Porter’s intensity.

Well I can clear it up for you folks. Felony charges derive from closed accounts not NSF checks. Meaning he may still have money he just is illegally using checks. As a small business owner I’ve seen people with lots of money do this. From the segments that do this I think it’s a cultural problem

It’s an awful “achievement” to write a check for over $1,000 that doesn’t clear after you’ve earned tens of millions of dollars in the past decade.

Joey Porter is not some average guy who should be living paycheck to paycheck.

This likely means he had a casino marker that didn’t clear. In Vegas they prosecute you via check laws if you don’t cover your marker. He’s probably not broke, he probably just didn’t cover it like he should.

As for the bail thing, it’s pretty ridiculous if he has to spend Christmas in jail because he’s not given bail.
