I think McCarthy is saying the Packers will continue to use Cobb as a return man this year because of the depth the Packers have at the wide receiver position. Next year if Jennings is gone, Cobb will be too valuable to use as a return man.

How do the packers keep finding these quality receivers in the second round and later? Greg Jennings, James jones, jordy Nelson, and now Randall Cobb. Rather than burn high picks on receivers, why aren’t teams offering picks for these quality proven guys the Packers have already developed for them?

Oh I forgot, it’s Aaron Rodgers throwing to then.

That’s 80-954-8 TDs on 104 targets… crazy numbers even for a Packers WR. This guy has arrived sooner than I thought, can run just about any route, and has a good set of hands. Sky is the limit! I trust MM on this one to leave him as a returner; you need a sure hands returning kicks especially in the playoffs.

McCarthy knows a heck of a lot more about coaching football than I do…. with that said, I disagree with him on this one. The benefit does not exceed the risk.

It would be ludicrous for MM to remove Cobb as kick returner. Cobb’s a playmaker. The more he touches the ball, the better. — To date: — He’s returned 38 kick-offs & 31 punts to go with 80 pass receptions. That’s 69 & 80 touches.

Remove him from returning duties & you’re reducing his touches almost in half.

Get the football in his hands as often as possible….including returning punts and kicks. He is dangerous and there aren’t many players like him. He is as dangerous a player as Percy Harvin, only a much more skilled and polished route runner already and much smarter without the “me” attitude.

Randall Cobb is a FOOTBALL PLAYER.

Lost in his ankle issue is the brilliant play he made on kickoff Sunday where he purposely planted one foot out of bounds before touching kick near sideline to get ball placed at 40.

How many people honestly knew THAT rule? That’s an intelligent play by a kid who respects and understands the game.

The league needs a lot more Randall Cobbs.

Dude is like a Faster version of Antonio Freeman – he just racks up yards doing whatever the coaches ask him to do…

Play HB, Return Kicks, Catch, play QB …. Cobb is a swiss army knife.

Randall has quietly been a beast this year in the NFL.

Over 2300 all purpose yards on a team that boasts play makers like Jordy Nelson and Greg Jennings. James Jones leads the league in TD receptions as well.

IMO – he deserves the Pro-Bowl selection.
