Fitz is as bad as it gets outside of Arizona in terms of a starting QB. Gailey is the worst coach by a far margin in the league. Hopefully both are gone.

The Bills are a disgrace to the NFL. As bad as they have been, you would have thought just through the draft, they would now be strong.
But no!
Thanks to not smart guys running this team. Both the GM and HC should be shown the door. And quit playing in Toronto. They lose there every time.

The Bills under Ralph Wilson continue to make stupid decisions – including extending their lease in Buffalo for another 10 years. When Wilson finally croaks, his family intendeds to sell the team. To get top $$, the option to move the team would be a big selling point. Not a lot of top FA want to play in Buffalo.

Fitz is the type of QB any team developing a young QB would be lucky to have. He is serviceable and knowledgable and after not being able to hold down a starting job in Buffalo, should be content in the mentor/backup role.

I hope my Chiefs sign Fitz and then use at least 2 draft picks on a QB.

@gadzod. The pats had plenty of die hard fans, the pink hats ( a local term for the Johnny come latelys) did show up after 2001 and they will leave if we ever stop having winning seasons but the true fans will remain

and obviously some better coaching is needed as well! Thats the most important part. I actually think with this roster we could be 9-7 if we had a real good coach, but not otherwise

That was a ridiculous contract extension. There was no need to “lock up” a QB that had a couple good games, that no one was looking at. He hasn’t done a thing since he signed that contract.

I would hate to see Buddy Nix go because I feel like he is building a good roster. We just need a little more talent on offense (QB and Wideouts). Our defense improved throughout the year, and with one more piece (PRAYING ITS TEO or JARVIS JONES) we could have a solid solid defense next year. Gilmore was the defensive pick of the draft. NO DOUBT!

Chan is the biggest problem. Against the Jags it was the “Hot Hand” approach, which meant Fred got the ball then against the rams that approach is gone ? How about against the texans where they were down by 8ish and they came out pass pass pass, but against the Seahawks down by twenty they run ?
Or Chans constant use of screens so much we the Fans can predict them. Or calling up deep passes when your QB can’t hit them. Chan is joke. He is the problem here not fitz, who was supposed to have an outstanding defense to keep scores manageable.

This reply is the gift that keeps on giving. Was it four or five playoff wins for the franchise in its history before the blind squirrel found the 6th round nut? (How are the SB without any game tape prior to game actually being played working out for you?)

The ideal scenario – Bills keep Chan and trade up to get Geno Smith. Beautiful combo. Dream scenario for a reason, it’s just a dream.

More likely scenario – Bills dump Fitz, fire Chan, Nix claims there’s no “franchise” QB in the draft and the Bills bring on human turnover machine Michael Vick. I’m ecstatic. Not.

They are clearly planning on cleaning house, and that means everyone- Fitz, Gailey, and Nix.

All three of these guys represent the consistent tendency of the Bills organization over the last 15 years to choose safe mediocrity over taking a risk that could lead to greatness.

Nix was a 70 something year old who had never even been offered a GM job in his life and had pretty much risen to the level of his incompetence.

Gailey was a thoroughly uninspired hire whose record screamed mediocrity everywhere he went.

And Fitz, well let’s just say that while he was fairly good leading up to his huge contract, he wasn’t exactly reminding anyone of Tom Brady.

While it will be good to see this team admit there mistakes and move on from this terrible trio, it won’t make much difference if they follow the same philosophy when choosing their replacements.

Figures. Fitz is a good quarterback just not a great one. Really can’t throw down the seam. There’s no deep passing attack. He’s a great backup and could be a good stop-gap starter for some team. He’s not the primary reason the Bills are 5-10, the defense takes the primary blame from me.

No. You say what you want about his skillset but he’s no quitter. Fitz will put his head down and sacrifice his body just to get a first down. He’s a ball player.

I’d have zero qualms about starting Thigpen or even Tarvaris in Week 17 just because. Fitz won’t be back, might as well get a look. And wow, that T-Jack trade sure looks great! Hasn’t even dressed.

This is the same story year after year. Even in Cincinnati, the blind squirrel found a ginger nut in Dalton. Buffalo’s inability to build anything has made them the laughing stock of the NFL. I’m not a Bills fan and I long for the days where they couldn’t close out the biggest game because at the very least, they were competitive during the season.
