All helmet to helmet hits should be reviewed, as turnovers and scores are. it just happens too fast to get it right each time.

I doubt that there would have been a penalty, let alone a fine and/or suspension, had it not been against Goodell’s beloved Giants.

Roger Goodell’s ambition appears to be to become the second coming of David Stern, handing out “justice” and indications of who he prefers to see winning like an emperor.

Good luck finding suitable NFL players in 20 years, after parents across America ban their kids from playing football.

Oh yes you will have a few hundred maybe even a 1000 kids coming up ready to play Pro….
Of course all the best athletes will be playing in the NBA and MLB.

How’s this reality sound NFL fans?
Ohhhh you cry about Goodell and really have no clue what you’re talking about.

You don’t see youth football #’s taking a nose dive do you?

Hmmmmm what are America’s best young athletes going to focus on, these special case athletes who have the genetics and drive to become a Pro in which ever sport they focus on…
Will it be
Non guaranteed contracts with the chance of crippling injury and concussions? With a career length of 7-10 years?
Or make more money, with little chance of injury and play for 15 years in the NBA or MLB.
Hmmm tough choice

I guess many of you never considered that if parents are starting to forbid football for their kids it won’t eventually effect the Pros….

After reading all the posts I can’t understand why people think that raven fans are such homers. They make a lot of very logical arguments like : if it goes against the ravens it’s wrong and if its in the ravens favor it must be right. I mean how can anyone not see the beauty in this simple logic…priceless.

While I also can’t stand how the media hypes Dallas 24/7, whether the season is in contention or not, the Saints didn’t show much. Romo said that they still have a chance as long as they’re down two scores. Guess what the Saints did? Prove that they still have a chance as long as they’re down two scores.

All the Saints did was gave Romo’s statement some validity and I’m an Eagles fan.

This is further proof godell is only about money. You can’t even touch a Wr or Qb without laundry coming out on the play, it’s all to protect the invests on the highest paid players. Why do you think the lineman can cheap shot and take legs out? No one cares about them

It was a clean hit as was the one on Vernon Davis.

The flags being thrown for good hits are out of control. I have watched the NFL for close to 50 years and can truly say these rules are ruining the game. At this rate in the next ten years , the NFL will become 2 hand touch.

Ed Reed is a great player who plays the game the way it was meant to be played.

I understand his contract is up at the end of the season and I know a hooded HC that loves him some Ed Reed.

What a double standard….. The nfl suspends players for less. Look at harrison, they made him the poster child of illegal hits. Reed continues to play this way and refuses to alter his style. Guess the threat of suspension and fine worked earlier this year, what a joke!

I saw that hit and there was nothing illegal about it. shoulders in the chest caused the receivers head to snap forward and give the illusion on the field that helmet to helmet happened. If anything the league is “head hunting” in this respect and they need to let them play. Same thing with the hit Davis took in the 9′rs game. Both were brutal but leagal hits.

The penalty on Reed was total nonsense. Everyone should see the hit before judging. One of the worst calls of the year!

It’s been speculated that this was going to be Reed’s last year, simply because he was just finally too sick and tired of a impotent offense screwing him over.

The silver lining for a suspension that included a playoff game, would be that it probably ends up getting Reed to play at least one more season. There’s no way he would want to end his career sitting out the last game due to a suspension.

Am I the only one that saw that play and thought it was as clean as you could make it? Reed’s shoulder connects with Cruz’s chest… I don’t see anything illegal about it.

The fact that Reed did it again just shows you that the first suspension should have been upheld. Your reasoning that they will not suspend this time makes no sense.
