The Seattle Seahawks reinstated rookie safety Winston Guy to their active roster on Monday.

Guy was suspended for four games on Nov. 20 for a violation of the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Guy’s agent, Greg Lamont Linton, said Guy had ingested an over-the-counter substance that contained an ingredient on the banned substances list. His suspension ended last week and the Seahawks were given a one week roster exemption for Guy to return to practice before they had to make a decision on his status.

To make room for Guy on the roster, the team released wide receiver Deon Butler.

Butler was re-signed prior to the Seahawks 50-17 win over the Buffalo Bills two weeks ago but was inactive for the game. He played sparingly on Sunday night in the Seahawks 42-13 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Guy has been active for just two games for Seattle this season and played primarily on special teams.
