The unveiling of this year’s initial Pro Bowl rosters is coming a bit later on Wednesday evening, but news of some selections and omissions is starting to leak out.

J.R. Rickard, the agent for Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung, tweeted out congratulations to Okung for being voted one of the NFC’s starting tackles. It’s the first time that Okung, a 2010 first-round pick, has been named to the team and, probably not coincidentally, the first time Okung has gone the entire season without an injury serious enough to keep him out for multiple games.

While there will almost certainly be other Seahawks on the roster, cornerback Richard Sherman will reportedly not be one of them. Albert Breer of NFL.com reports that Sherman has not been voted onto the team despite turning in an excellent year for the team. Sherman won’t be eligible for the team if his suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy is upheld, but he was eligible to be voted on the team pending the resolution of that case.

Sherman’s play merited a nod, but it would seem voters thought his positive test was reason to find someone else to vote for this year.
