If Sherman is cleared, he will be at the Pro Bowl by the coaches selection. Fan’s didn’t know if they should vote for him based on the PED issue – not his play. I can’t say I would have voted for him if he didn’t play for my Seahawks.

People better start to realize Sherman is the best CB in the league – the best. Ask Calvin Johnson if you have any question.

Sherman will be an all pro first team so the pro bowl snub won’t be a thing. Sherman is the best corner in the league, and will only get better even without the adderall. Okung nice job buddy tough shoes to fill in the all time best walter jones.

I suppose if Okung is playing better lately – All I remember from him is when my Packers played Seattle.
Okung was getting embarrassed – meanwhile Richard Sherman and That secondary were doing a pretty good job against one of the best receiving corps in the league.

Unless them dudes really were jacked up on peds… idk. Pro bowl is weird.

Okung is starting over Williams because of name recognition and Seattle voters trying to get Wilson to the Pro Bowl. Trent Williams has not allowed one big hit on Griffin all season. That is a fact. Jared Allen, JPP, and DeMarcus Ware, and Trent Cole combined for two sacks on the year against the Redskins, although Williams pulled on both of those plays, leaving a running back to block the pro-bowl pass-rushers. Goofy play-calling? Maybe. Williams fault? No. On top of that, both of Griffins injuries came on runs (to the right) nine yards past the line of scrimmage.

Regardless, I had a point to make, but I felt like I had to stand up for the league’s most underrated tackle first.

Anyway, Sherman’s snub, and it definitely was a snub, is not an issue of Okung vs. Sherman so much as Okung vs. perhaps the weakest group of tackles the league has ever seen.

Seriously, make a list of the really good tackles in the league right now: Thomas, Staley, Okung, Williams, Clady (possibly overrated?), Long (ditto). Duane Brown is pretty good, but is a step below this tier of players.

It’s almost shocking how few good/great tackles there are in the NFL right now. Of these players, Thomas may have a shot at Canton, maybe Staley (big maybe) if he wins a few rings; Williams and Okung are still young enough to put an all-pro career together, but it’s hard to see many current NFL tackles going down in history as truly “Great” players.

I’m starting to ramble now, but point is, Okung’s inclusion and Sherman’s snub are more a result of different levels of talent depth in the NFL right now than anything else.

Okung is battling literally nobody for a spot, while Sherman, who should still have made the pro-bowl, is still battling a much deeper talent pool at cornerback.

Who cares? Ask them if they’d like to play against him in the playoffs. That’s ultimately what matters. Then ask them, if they like him on their team. If the Pro bowl was based on either of those questions, this would’ve been a far different result. Don’t sweat it Seahawks fans. You know what the guy does on the field, and so do they.

If a cornerback is getting under the rest of the league’s skin to this degree, he’s doing his job.

The pro bowl vote means absolutely nothing anyway. Any time you let fans be at least partially responsible for who gets a reward, its just a popularity contest.

They should have a vote of every 53 man roster, plus the coaches from each team. That would be a valuable reward…not some fans voting 30 times for the players on his favorite team.

Congratulations to Russell Okung. He has had an amazing year. But in a season in which Calvin Johnson set a new NFL record for receiving yardage, Richard Sherman held him to 3 catches for 46 yards. Yes, he has a mouth but he backs it up–better than any cornerback in the NFL (and every receiver knows it). He probably will be ineligible, but he has been the best this year. Period.

Too bad he needed help covering Calvin. All I remember from that game is Titus Young smoking him.
