APWhen the playoffs are off the table, it’s time for teams who aren’t advancing to start clearing the decks of guys they were saving just in case.
The Steelers did just that, placing cornerback Ike Taylor on injured reserve, along with tight end Heath Miller and running back Baron Batch.
Taylor had missed three games with an ankle injury, and they were holding out hope he could return if they made the postseason.
The other two weren’t going to be back, as Miller suffered a ACL/MCL/PCL injury last week, and will need surgery on his right knee. Batch suffered a broken arm last week as well.
To fill the roster, the Steelers promoted tight end Jamie McCoy, safety Damon Cromartie-Smith and linebacker Marshall McFadden from their practice squad.

I really think we need those annoying Steelers fans to post. Where did they go? They had so much to say earlier in the year.
Yeah I’m waiting for the “Heath got taken out on an illegal shot to the knees” argument. We all know what the response to that one would be. Taste of your own medicine Steeler fans.
Will Steeler fans even show up on Sunday? What an awful, pathetic season you’ve played Steelers. Your fans should be proud. Wasn’t this the same 12-4 team from last year that was ousted by Tim Tebow. It was all down hill from there. This team is about to enter cap hell and it couldn’t of happened to a more deserving team or group of fans. The whole football world is laughing at you.
Right here fugly. Wahhhh wahhhh wahhhh. Based on your name we do agree on something. What annoying fanbase are you part of?
I think one thing is certain, is that if we can keep Lewis, we are going to have 3 really good CBs next year. Shame how Ike’s season ended, but his backups played well enough for the Steelers to win.
do you research, steelers will NOT have cap problems next year, and yes, this is still the franchise with 6 Lombardi trophies….
jeez, how many Cromarties are there?
Amen CT, can’t wait when Ike is considered the 2nd best cover-corner on the team, if Lewis keeps progressing.
Almost as disappointing as the Steelers being out of the contest, is that our division is represented by a very, very bad team. That’s what’ll be most embarassing. At least we can keep hope alive with Cincy.

And Baltimore has 4 World Championships, Green Bay 13, and so on …. so what is your point.
Heath had that illegal shot coming, it is Harrison that said last week he will attack low ? Dajavu?!
Wait, I could’ve swore by their fan comments that the Steelers were in the playoffs? What happened?

Pile on and troll all you like, but that doesn’t hide the fact that the Ravens aren’t that impressive either. The league doesn’t issue trophies for qualifying for the playoffs.
In two games, the Ravens are 1-1 versus the team that you state is awful and pathetic, each scoring/allowing 33 points.
As for cap hell, you surely are mistaken. The Steelers do not over extend themselves, and in the cases they need to trim, its accomplished rather quietly and with the future of the team intact.
The Ravens are pathetic!!!!! They’ll be watching the superbowl like the rest of us.
The only Nfl Championships are not impressive. There were 12 teams in the NFL back then. In the 60s, the NFL added a game after the Championship game against the Champion from the other football league (AFL ). That additional game became known as the Super Bowl and when the leagues merged, their championship games became the AFC and NFC championship games.
That’s why you hear nothing about the old Championship games during the 2 weeks before the SB. No one cares. It’s Lomardis that matter.
Oh, and btw, rat bird fans. Reed and Lewis are done. And you still have Flacco at QB. Bwahahahahahaha!
