APThe Kansas City Chiefs have won only two games this year. And they have nevertheless placed five players on the AFC Pro Bowl roster.
Making the roster were running back Jamaal Charles, linebacker Tamba Hali, linebacker Derrick Johnson, safety Eric Berry, and punter Dustin Colquitt.
Two of the five — Charles and Berry — returned in 2012 from torn ACLs, which makes their accomplishments even more impressive. Both have played all 15 games to date in 2012.
It’s a solid nucleus for a team that arguably is only a good quarterback away from becoming competitive. Of course, the same thing could be said for pretty much every struggling team that currently doesn’t have a good quarterback.

How often does a team have more Pro Bowlers than wins in a season?
Is this normal or a rarity?
Kind of figures the punter would see a lot of action on this team. I’m good with RB Charles on Pro Bowl roster who is an exciting runner but the guys on defense? Com’ on man!
Just goes to show how horribly this team has been coached. Of course having no QB doesn’t help either.
can Peyton Manning come back to k c with the chiefs and play next year?
How does a 2-14 team get 5 pro bowlers, while Spiller, Byrd, and McKelvin get snubbed? Disgusting…..
Romeo’s not exactly sure why.
Did we need more examples that the Pro Bowl is a complete farce?
Look at the skins they were a qb from
Being respectable and the chiefs IMO have a lot more talent on their roster to build from
Those two teams that lost to the Chiefs have to be complete garbage.
this is a joke right? how do you reward a horrible team with this and so many good players and teams get snubbed
Drew Brees wants an explanation
If this angers or excites you then you don’t understand the pro bowl, the whole process and game are a complete joke. It’s like fantasy football, it means nothing.
Just shows how woeful the coaching, GM, and absentee owner truly are.
Goodbye Pioli, Romeo, Quin, and Cassel.
Too bad KC, you’ve been HUNT’d for the last 50 years.
Hey Chiefs haters, don’t punish good players just because the team has awful coaching and an incompetent GM. The Pro Bowl is a farce, but being selected is at least a tip of the hat to players that have performed well on the field.
How else do you kill the pro bowl. Create a team full of players whose fans don’t even watch.
I’m surprised Eric Berry got in. That guy does not look like that good of a safety.
What a joke! The only one who deserves this nod is the punter. Least deserving is crybaby Eric Berry
How does Hali make it over Mohammed Wilkerson?
The pro bowl had turned into the biggest joke of an “all star” there is….end it and put it out of or misery
How could you hire Crennel and expect anything good to happen?
A good runningback – Some pretty good defensive players….
Maybe a Better GM and Coach and an actual QB can help the chiefs win games.
Seems like everyone in K.C. Must stay indoors and are so bored they just reclick their pro bowl homer selections. Oh well, we can’t all live in South Florida or So Cal for that matter. GO OUTSIDE!
The Chiefs have not won a playoff game since 1993.
How could there be any argument about any of the players selected. The Chiefs defense actually played fantastic through out the year, even holding the Ravens to 9 points when the impotent offense could only muster 6… Hali, Johnson and Eric Berry have all had fantastic years and Jamaal Charles is third in rushing on a team where the defenders know they can get away with 8 to 9 in the box.
Makes perfect sense.
How is Cowher gonna say no to this AND the first pick of every round of the ’13 draft?
But, can a GM be incompetent if five players he signed to contracts make the Pro Bowl?
The AFC is surely gonna lose this game with 5 chefs on the field! It’s a joke to see people put the blame on the HC and GM. A majority of these selections under performed except for Charles and maybe the punter. This is embarrasing for the NFL.. Chefs fans were too busy voting for their team because they were all at home voting instead of actually being at the game on Sundays!!
Only Eric Berry was drafted by Pioli regime and as a KC fan and unfortunate follower, I don’t feel he played well this year. If studs like Charles and the biggest stud of them all, Adrian Peterson, hadn’t come back so strong from ACL surgery, I would excuse his performance on his injury. Regardless, Berry did not have a Pro Bowl year.
I have always felt that on paper this team could compete, even with the horrendous QB situation.
Pioli and Romeo must go! The situation this team is in, considering the level of talent that was left to them by the Peterson regime, is inexcusable!!!!!!
Pro Bowl’s a joke. Popularity contest at best. Don’t even watch it. Waste of time.
