The Carolina Panthers placed left guard Amini Silatolu on injured reserve Wednesday due to the injury to his left wrist suffered in the team’s victory over the Oakland Raiders last Sunday.

The Panthers second round pick out of Division II Midwestern State dislocated his left wrist on the second play of the game. Carolina had to turn to center Thomas Austin and tackle Bruce Campbell to fill the hole left by Silatolu’s injury. Geoff Hangartner would be an option to fill-in for Silatolu, but he’s missed the last two games due to a foot injury and was not able to practice Wednesday according to the Panthers’ official site.

Silatolu started all 15 games for Carolina this season. The Panthers have not filled the open spot on the roster.
