One and done is doubtful, probably two and done. Although the most likely senario at this point in Niners at 3 and Packers at 2, which would mean a trip to the frozen tundra if the Niners get past round 1, and the Niners have won their already this year. The teams that have beat the niners were very physical and I just do not see the Packers or Falcons being that physical. The Seahawks and Vikings would be the biggest threats but the Niners would get them both at home. I would not right off the Niners just yet.

Clearly touched a nerve with some 9ers fans lol, wasn't trying to be quite so inflammatory. I watched both the patriots and Seahawks games, and what I saw was Aldon getting pressure (but no sacks) on Brady in the first half, then nothing for the rest of that game and the next.

Again, acknowledging that he's a great player. I think the other 2 are better.

Why not play Aldon at DE? He did in college…is there anyone else in the LB corps who had Outside LB experience?

The 49ers play a 3-4 alignment. Justin Smith plays the 3 & 5 technique. Aldon Smith plays what equates to 7 & 9 technique. If they played a 4-3 defense, Aldon would be DE and Justin would be DT, but in a 3-4 Aldon stands up.

Aldon Smith has been totally exposed in the game-and-a-half Justin smith has been out. Not only has he had 0 sacks, he’s been virtually invisible.

Not saying he isn’t a top pass rusher, but he’s no Watt/Milller
_______________________________________
Perhaps you should have watched that game and a half before spouting off. First you have one of the least sacked QB's in the league in Brady. Second Wilson is very good on his feet. Third and most importantly he was doubled up and often blatantly held because NOBODY is worried about Ricky Jean. Obviously Justin's presence helps but the majority of Aldon's sacks came off the edge this year on his own. While we are at it.. quite a few of Miller's sacks have come from Dummervil chasing the QB towards him and Watt is a defensive end who is much larger than both

In the NFL things destiny can change from one game; good or bad. I thought the Steelers were really good until Roethlisberger got hurt. This is why those beginning of the year predictions are a joke. Everybody picks based on last year's results outside of one dark horse which isn't that bold of a pick either.

He will not play this weekend. Their ticket is punched for the dance. They are playing a weak AZ team with a QB making his first start, so they should be able to overcome it.

Play him this weekend, and they risk aggravating the injury and having him miss a playoff game....and that WOULD be devastating.
