Travis Beckum lands on injured reserve for Giants

Travis Beckum

The New York Giants have placed tight end Travis Beckum on injured reserve before the team’s regular season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday.

Beckum was still dealing with the lingering effects of the ACL injury suffered in last year’s Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots. Beckum had reconstructive surgery on his knee and began the season on the physically unable to perform list before being activated in November. Beckum appeared in just four games this season and did not record a single catch.

The Giants signed cornerback Terrence Frederick from their practice squad to take Beckum’s place on the active roster and signed cornerback Brandon Bing to the practice squad. Frederick spent a week on the Giants’ active roster in Week 15 before being released and re-signed to the practice squad.
