Adderall---contains as a minor component amphetamine, which while it is an illegal stimulant, in occasional small quantities not particularly addictive or effective performance enhancer. Many other stimulants contain a caffeine component and are sold over the counter and have similar effectiveness as Adderall, while being perfectly legal. The stupidity of knowingly using Adderal instead lends credence to Sherman's claim that IF his sample was positive, the use was accidental----because he is far from stupid. I don't understand the league pushing so hard in Sherman's case over a minor stimulate like he was a hard core juicer. Are they into pissing contests now? Test them for roids, they're awfully edgy.

One time I wanted to take some adderall but it was impossible to take in pill form so I was forced to crush it up and drink it in water. I couldn't swallow a tiny pill but I could easily swallow the water. That sort of flawed logic would be insulting to the mind of the average 12 year old but for some reason certain people here seem to believe it. No one crushes adderall and drinks it in water. They eat or snort it.
I will admit that this is my opinion if you will admit that Sherman's story seems incredibly implausible.

Fine, alleged explanation, the report has not been retracted by the writer. My points still stand, the NFL will never comment on what a player tests positive for and the NFL has idiots doing the testing.

Yeah, because we all know how much adderal there is floating in the air everywhere. Dont want that stuff getting into your urine sample. Really? I mean, really? You think adderal is an airborne contaminant? Do you think not having a taped seal on a cup will allow adderal to migrate inside?

When two other players tested positive, at the same time, and their specimens were collected together, it's absolutely a possibility that leaks between cups could transmit substances.

Funny the assumptions in these comment sections on testing. These are processes put in place because if they are not followed, contamination becomes a major factor and the sample is invalid. Period. It isn’t Joe Blow thinking this, it is scientists wanting a controlled environment to make sure their results are accurate because false positives (not just in testing, in all lab scenarios) happen all the time.

Cups need to be sealed to ensure nothing can get into the sample and contaminate it. They need to be tested by 2 different technicians because of the possibility of tester error.

These two core processes were violated and there isn’t a drug testing agency that would consider his test valid. But I guess PFT commenters making assumptions about things they know nothing about is pretty much the norm.

Obviously a lot of bitter fans out there whose teams got destroyed by Richard Sherman and the Seahawks. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

The Seahawks have youth, a great front office, and supreme talent going for them. Imagine how good they will be 2 years from now.

It isnt about Sherman the player, it is about Sherman the man. He got away with failing a urine test. He never said he didnt do it, he just said he shouldnt be suspended because the proper protocol was not followed.

Sherman Used PEDs. If that isnt bad enough, he (and many fans, apparently) is celebrating it like some sort of victory against the system. Then he wants to have the issue addressed of how people found out he was cheating the sport? He should be happy to have gotten away with one and let sleeping dogs lie.

Tjh9985-you sir are the one who needs to do the research. Please research the NFL’s policy on confidentiality when it comes to these matters. Then please come back and tell me what you’ve discovered. Please be a man and come back here and admit that you were wrong. Then maybe consider a less snide response to people who are stating facts that you don’t like.
On a side note how could you possibly know that Albert Breer was being truthful?

He knows for the same reasons any of us know ANYTHING about any of this. Leaks and inside information. He would have no reason to just make it up, and the guy has a good track record.
eazy28 - "Additionally, Sherman’s explanation for his positive test is embarrassingly bad, crushed up adderall in a drink. This only leads one to believe that drug abuse is rampant within the Seahawks organization. He is lucky that NFL has morons conducting the drug tests."

Sherman NEVER claimed that he drank an adderall laced drink.

As you said it, I really wish people would think before spouting off with inaccuracies.

-----------

God, I wish people would think before spouting off inaccuracies. The NFL has to uphold confidentiality on these player issues. They will never release the substance that a player has tested positive for. This has been written about on this site several times. The admission of adderall being the banned substance has come from Sherman and his agent. It is irrelevant that Albert Breer reported it, he has no other information to go off of but what is supplied to him by Sherman and his agent. Clearly you are the one who needs to do some research. Additionally, Sherman's explanation for his positive test is embarrassingly bad, crushed up adderall in a drink. This only leads one to believe that drug abuse is rampant within the Seahawks organization. He is lucky that NFL has morons conducting the drug tests.

Laughing at lack of knowledge of football. When a CB leads the NFL in passes defensed it says something about his converage skills, 7 Int's, 3 FF, 2 TD's mostly against a teams best in man coverage. I watch the Bears play Jennings covers far better than Tillman. Tillman gets burned regularly when they aren't in Cover 2. Next...

Funny the assumptions in these comment sections on testing. These are processes put in place because if they are not followed, contamination becomes a major factor and the sample is invalid. Period. It isn't Joe Blow thinking this, it is scientists wanting a controlled environment to make sure their results are accurate because false positives (not just in testing, in all lab scenarios) happen all the time.

Cups need to be sealed to ensure nothing can get into the sample and contaminate it. They need to be tested by 2 different technicians because of the possibility of tester error.

These two core processes were violated and there isn't a drug testing agency that would consider his test valid. But I guess PFT commenters making assumptions about things they know nothing about is pretty much the norm.
