I read some of this stuff and I have to laugh and wonder are people really that dumb or are they just that biased.

Firstly, on the bounties, there was NO solid proof that it ever existed other than what the NFL tried to poorly put together.

Secondly, if you really think Sean Payton is overrated and not worth every penny he's getting, then you are about as dumb as they come. He turned a franchise around that had never won anything except on occasion and made it into a winning program including winning a Superbowl.

Thirdly, if you really think that the Saints won't be coming back strong in 2013, then you are about as delusional as the Falcaint fans who actually think they will win the Superbowl this season when in reality they won't even make it to the superbowl. Sean Payton is the backbone of that organization and he has had a year to plan and put together the plan for his return. If you really think he has not been working on that, then you obviously do not know anything about Sean Payton.

Keep it real folks and look at the real facts and not your closed minded Roger Goodell so called facts because they do not exist!

And last but not least, get ready to get run over by the WHO DAT touchdown machine in the 2013 season....Saints will win their second SuperBowl in 5 years and for those so called fans bragging about how many rings or trophies their teams have won, keep dusting those trophies cause it might be a while before you get another one....Delusion at it's best!....

I'm glad the Saints' got their coach for the foreseable future, but I don't think he is worth $8 Million. Its financial moves like this, that makes me think coaching staffs should count against the salary cap (I'm fairly confident they don't, if they do, my bad).

All you tools calling the Saints cheaters are pathetic jokes. The Saints did NOTHING on the field illegal. If you bother to look at the results on the field, the Saints were one of the least penalized teams during the time period in question. Are you aware that over a thousand people died in that storm. I live in New Orleans my entire life. It's far from a perfect city but it has a charm that set it apart from any other city in the United States. Up until now my responses had been really more about stirring the pot. But, I'm deadly serious now. That statement about Katrina being the univers attempt to cleanse the city is scary. I'm going to pray for you tonight because you're sick. And, please know I'm not angry at you're post. I'm just worried by it, And, yes I lived in New Orleans my entire life up until the storm and I attend to return there to retire

Tighend82

You get a grip. Kirk Warner was knocked out of that game because he tried to make a tackle after a interception. Bret Farve finished the game. At know time did Greg Williams stated that Shaw Payton knew anything about what was going on. But, besides that, where was your moral outrage when it came out that the giants target one of the niners and they were doing it because they knew he had a injury, or when the jets threaten to heart reggie bush and then followed through on it. Judging by your Thightend82 post you played football. That means that you've heard pregame speeches before. You know as well as I do that it's simply talk and no one takes it seriously. And, I don't know who your favorite team is but unless it's one that's one a Superbowl in the last ten years I bet you fan base would have love to him coaching your team.

I'm sorry I can't continue to allow stupid people like you to say want you want to say about our team, city, or owner without responding. First of all it's obvious that you've lost all objectivity concerning this issue. And, although this is going to fall of deaf ears, I'll try this again. At no point did anyone in our organization, and this includes coaches or players admitted to going out and trying to hurt anyone. What they admitted to was that during meeting they said things and did things as a way of motiviation. Even Greg Williams stated in his confession, if you want to call it that, that the Saints never to the field with the goal of hurting anyone. Secondly in the ruling the former commisioner gave he state that Shaw Payton was guilty because he was the head coach. No coach said that he had direct knowledge of what was going on. Now, concerning your statement relating to getting help for the Storm. Tom Benson is a billionare. He didn't need any help from anyone after the storm. And, if your statement was suppose to be directed at the everyday citizens of the city. My wife and I both sent money to support the victims of the storm. Now, if you have some other issues that's fine. But, you and anyone else who thinks that you're going to post anything negative about the city I grew up in or the team a proud to be a fan of you have another thing coming. So, get of you high horse and have the courage to say what your real issue is. And, concerning your statement concerning the character of the man I think that was uncalled for. But, do be honest I don't think that much of yours right now either

Dear Tom, get a grip. This guy you just offered 8 million a year took your franchise into uncharted territory with the Bounty Gate debacle. He led the OK to purposely Injure other players on NFL Teams...importantly, the Better Players on those Teams(See Brett Favre, Kurt Warner). He directed, or at the least approved of the tactics that Greg Williams suggested and implemented. Along the way, the Ain'ts won some games, and even a Super Bowl. To have the NFL suspend him for a Full NFL Season, and you to reward him with this type of Contract opportunity, making him the highest paid coach at least in the NFL, is just plain sad and really stupid....he is way down the list when it comes to coaching ability, and from a class standpoint way down the list. Tom, you are part of what is wrong with this country....the Rich guys with the money who have no sense of what is important, rewarding people for doing something wrong....it didn't work with the recent Presidential Election, meaning all of the money spent to defeat the sitting President, and I expect this will end poorly as well....Payton, God Bless America, where anything is possible, thanks to dopes like Tom Benson.....

Thank goodness for idiot fans who get upset when others rightfully talk crap about their team. If it didn't bother you as much as your comment says, you wouldn't have posted anything. You're an idiot & the Saints suck. Fans who think the presence of Payton would've helped the Saints this year are just plain stupid. Payton is an offensive coach & does NOTHING with defense. Payton's lack of interest & control with the defense was proven when the team hired Spanuolo, one of the most highly regarded defensive coaches in the NFL, to run the Saints' D. Not even Jesus Christ could've helped that defense this year. Despite Payton's absence, the offense barely missed a beat; as a matter of fact, I would argue they were better without Payton. The Saints were the best passing team this year, but what made them better was that Vitt ran the ball more than Payton ever did. The Saints offensive production this year just showed $8 million is too much for Payton. People are "jealous haters," we are just speaking the truth. I'm sorry your inbred mind couldn't comprehend that. Truth.

Extremely overpaid. I don't get it. I can understand BB getting $8 million for winning multiple Super Bowls & building a dynasty - he's hands down the best coach since Lombardi. I can see Tom Coughlin getting $8 million for winning 2 Super Bowls in 4 years. But Sean Payton? $8 Million per year? He has 1 Super Bowl in which everything fell into place perfectly. It is clear the Saints can't win outside late in the season & the lack of adjustments to the weather elements falls squarely on the shoulders of the coach. Also, with the Saints upcoming salary cap problems & the bullish, selfish attitude Brees has taken to not restructuring his contract to help the team is going to lead to years of decline as Brees' career winds down at the same time. $8 million for a coach who will be lucky to finish .500 the next 3-4 years is too damn much.

The haters say Saints are cheaters for winning the championship in 2009, but can’t come up with 1 legit reason to validate their claim…Godell drowned the media and his supporters into believing a bounty program was in place for 3 yrs, but Saints were deemed innocent of the charges by appeals panel and Taglibue..these hating fans are upset the Saints have been cleared and made their coach the highest paid coach in NFL..No way Sean Payton was leaving New Orleans, where he has 100% full control of the organization then to go to Dallas with Jerry and have 0 percent control and be a puppett…use common sense folks, it wasn’t happening..congrats to Sean Payton and his new contract extension.

---------------------------------------------------------

You do know that the appeal you are speaking of didn't find the Saints innocent right? In fact, Tagliabue was quite specific in stating that the Saints were GUILTY of everything they were accused of. But Tags thought the punishment should be focused more on the arrogant coaching staff. But just to repeat, GUILTY....And not in the playoffs....I love all the saints fans chanting about next year, that's the loser mantra right there.

PC inherited a team that was in absolute shambles 3 short years ago. We were told that a Top Ten defense was possible under his guidance (#1 scoring defense, check). The surprise has been on the other side of the ball. If the 'Hawks can score 27 points tomorrow, they will be only the 2nd team since 1950 to score 200 points in a month ('07 Pats being the other). Great hire.

Keep running (this team), Pete.

Not surprising really. N.O. is a dirty city after all. Katrina was the universes attempt to clean the filth. Apparently, the citizens want it back. 4 -5 wins next year is what will happen. Get your bags ready.

I don't think Mr. Peyton Manning, a New Orleans native playing for your Broncos, would appreciate your comment. I am not a Saints fan either but I am still waiting for actual proof of some bounty program existing or an actual example on the field that parlays into justifying the suspension and all that happened that is any different than the rest of the NFL teams. Are you saying that if Denver gets to the Super Bowl you wouldn't go to New Orleans to see the game if given a chance?
