Are you kidding me? I watched all 15 games and maybe compared to the worst corner in the NFL it was a “breakout season”. Sean Smith is an average CB at best by overall NFL standards. He has the size and potential to be an elite CB but he’s not there yet.

Not every fan…just the ones not paying attention or parroting what other people say. I don’t think the Dolphins need a safety because the Jones/Wilson tandem is pretty good. (Wilson is a better safety than CB but injuries forced him into CB duties more often than he should have been. If they do look for one, Byrd (Bills) would fit well. The need last year was depth and losing Bell added to that.

Smith held his own against some very good wr’s. his size makes him vulnerable against the smaller quicker wr’s. if we get a starter on the other side we have a great backfield with smith on the larger WR and our other starter on the deep man. I know everyone is high on Rashard Jones he may be good in coverage (where his ratings are coming from) but if you have watched the games lately he has taken some bad angles in the open field and when Rbs get open past the line. Just saying

Just because you are the best player in a ragtag secondary (besides Reshad Jones) does not mean you are a great player. That money needs to be spent on very good/great players. And I think Long needs to go as well, not worth the investment. If you can resign either or both to reasonable contracts then fine.
