Getty ImagesThe Patriots added some depth to several thin areas with a series of roster moves.
According to Field Yates of ESPNBoston.com, the Pats activated defensive end Jermaine Cunningham Saturday, after he served a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substance policy.
To make the roster spot for him, they waived defensive tackle Ron Brace, a former second-round pick who had a grand total of four tackles in 10 games this year.
They also promoted wide receiver Kamar Aiken and defensive back Malcolm Williams from the practice squad, addressing thin spots heading into tomorrow’s finale.

Another former second round pick bites the dust.
Next up, Ras-I Dowling and Pat Chung.
With the success of Chandler Jones and Dont’a Hightower this year the Patriots should continue to focus on trading UP.
Hopefully Cunningham can start back up right where he left off. He was finally starting to show some improvement this year. Then again it could have been the PEDs.
Except they have no ammunition to trade up this year. I still have hope for Ras I too, but I think I’m in the minority on that one.
Best roster move all year. What a waste of a pick
Wow, activate one after a suspension and call up two from the practice squad. What a way to prepare for the playoffs. Sheesh!
Brace and Dowling can pool their bonus money together and open a Taco Bell franchise in Lowell.
I was very surprised that Ron Brace was a washout. He looked like at least a contributer coming out of college.
Lesson to Ron Brace: bulk up on roids like Cunningham, get suspended, but keep job.
well Take Brace here in Carolina lol he’ll be a upgrade to our DT spot behind Dwan Edwards
I think Brace would be a good addition to the Packer’s Def, he did play along side Raji at BC, why not see if re-uniting them will light a fire.
Has Ras I Dowling ever played in the 2nd half of an NFL game?
something was stopping Brace from stepping up. Maybe a change of scenary is what he needs. He had some great flashes of dominance but then would disappear or get hurt with little nagging injuries.
You mean I won’t get to hear his annual preseason promise that things are going to be different this year, and he was actually going to get in shape, and live up to his draft status in 2013?
Bumout. Get lost Brace.
The Patriots haven’t always drafted well, especially in the second round. But one thing’s for sure: Bill Belichick has NEVER fallen in love with his (high) draft picks. If they don’t work out after a suitable peroid, cut ‘em.
By the way, I posit that Jermaine Cunningham is likely to make a play or two in this year’s post-season tournament as an interior rusher or perhaps off the edge. Just sayin’….
Has Ras I Dowling ever played in the 2nd half of an NFL game?
Or the 2nd half of a season….. I called bust when he missed most of his rookie year. He probably gets one more shot in 13.
NE gets a lot of praise for accumulating picks, but they sure waste alot of them
Ras IR Dowling…
