APThe Patriots really need tight end Rob Gronkowski for the postseason. They’ll get him back for the final game of the regular season.
PFT has confirmed a chain of reports starting with Tom Curran of CSN New England that Gronk will play when the Pats host the Dolphins on Sunday.
It’s unclear whether Gronkowski will make a cameo appearance, play extensively, or perform at some level in between. As Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com pointed out recently, Gronkowski was practicing at a normal level this week.
As Curran explained earlier this week in a visit to The Dan Patrick Show, the Patriots seem to be tired and wearing down on offense. They need Gronkowski to return at a high level, if they hope to get back to the Super Bowl and win it.

Gronk!!!
Tiring on Offense? bcse they only hung 38 on the #1 defense two weeks ago and 41 the week before..excuse me they only scored 28 or so last week vs..Jags!!!! call 911
He’ll have more time once Jersey Shore ends …
.
Sloppy on offense may have been a better description, rather than tiring.

Looks like I am benching Welker for the finals in FF today. Good news for Gronk though! Looks like he gets a tune up just in time for the playoffs.
Once again, the person who selects the pictures is the MVP of this story.
Most of us Pats fans expected him to get some play time this week and not before. This is normally how BB handles guys returning from a longer term injury, get them integrated and back to football speed gradually.
How/why was Gronkowski selected for the pro bowl this year?
Better get him ready for that one and done appearance in the playoffs.
I would say Gronk was selected to the Pro Bowl because he is the best TE in the league and in his 10 games he produced 700+ yds and 10 TDs.
The ravens will be lucky to make it out of wildcard weekend
“How/why was Gronkowski selected for the pro bowl this year?”
Because he’s the best TE in the NFL and it’s not even close.
Nice day to welcome back the young Buffalonian to the fold because it’s gonna be Buffalo weather in Foxborough this afternoon; mid-to-low 20′s with a stiff windchill factor. Fans should bring their little snow shovels if they want a clear seat for their patootie cushion because I doubt there is time to clear much, besides the ifeld, after last night’s snow event. Welcome back, Gronk! We need ya now, cuz it’s nothing but hardball from here on out. Go Pats; Squish the Fish!
They need a healthy and cohesive secondary more than anything. We need Talib and Dennard back at the corners and healthy.
