Absolutely. But more than that we want fair and unbiased application of the rules, and by rule (because of Mcarthy’s stupidity) it should have been Vikings ball at the 35 yard line instead of a Packers TD. That mistake by the officials nearly gave the Packers another win they didn’t deserve.

That is a fact, and it is indisputable.

This is why NFL rules are written so ambiguously. It allows the league to rule any way they want. They can make up any justification to fit just about any circumstance.

What cracks me up is Packer fans saying how they always get hosed by calls. LMAO. Just because it was ruled a fumble to begin with doesn’t mean they were being hosed. As you know ALL turnovers and scores get reviewed so it wouldn’t have mattered. But you have to go by what you see.

Now on to the pseudo rule of being able to review once the challenge flag is thrown. First off, one of the stupidest rules I’ve ever heard. However, a rule is a rule and it should be the same for every game, every team. This review should have been stopped as soon as the challenge flag was thrown. By rule, Viking touchback and assess the 15 yard penalty and it should have been Viking rule at the 35.

If anything, I would have even accepted the Packers keeping the ball because the knee was clearly down prior to the fumble, but having the ball on the 16 yard line after the penalty was assessed. But giving them a TD in that circumstance is ridiculous. I personally didn’t see any decisive evidence the ball crossed the line prior to the knee touching the ground. The ball did cross the line in his hand but I’m not sure if the knee was down yet. These refs make up stuff as they go.

what if the refs could just make the right calls in the first place? its funny how they can call a ball thats hit the ground complete, but miss 3 obvious holds on a late game play to setup the winning chipshot fg. perplexing.

So now the coaches are subject to pure luck as to how they pay for their mistakes? In the Detroiut game, the replay booth take their sweet time to review , so Schwartz’s action is more costly while in the Packers game, the review booth goes to work INSTANTANEOUSLY and that help Mike’s team despite the same mistake being made? So the severity of the penalty becomes more about the speed at which the review booth goes to action?

As a Vikings fan! consistentcy would be nice? But I also am a firm beliver that calls balance out in the end! (most the time,Not always) I can honestly say that when your team wins your like oh well!! But when your team looses, Then you look back and say this or that wasn’t the right call or this or that was a penalty!! Everybody would like a perfect system! To error is human, to forgive devine!! Still a great game!!

Ya know, I watched this game and the Packers spent the entire time whining and bitching at the refs. YET, they always get these fluke favorable calls like this. It’s so annoying. The one time they don’t? “Fail-Mary”? We gotta hear about it every day, all the time, never stops. I guess the lesson here is to just let Aaron Rodgers ref the game in between Quarterbacking and we won’t have to hear so much complaining and conspiracy theories. You guys make the Raiders look sane.

And it may interest you guys to actually read what happened. When Schwartz threw the flag the booth review had not been initiated yet. Therefore, according to the stupid rule, the review is nullified. When McCarthy threw the flag, the booth review had already been initiated, therefore the review was able to continue. However, it still required a 15 yard penalty. Not that hard to understand.

So basically all you queens fans are whining that the refs shouldnt have gotten a chance to correct a blatantly incorrect call….that wouldve given you guys two horrible calls that went your way (I think everyone knows the ball bounced off the ground on Wright’s “catch”), and yet you’re still crying Green Bay gets everything? If any of you haters would’ve watched Packers games this year you would know they got hosed week in and week out oustide of the Seattle. Then when one call (emphasis on “one”) goes the Packers way, everyone blows up like a firework screaming the game is fixed. Get a life people.

As a Lions fan I knew as soon as he threw the flag they were still going to review the play, the Lions should have got the same call as the Packers but didnt. The NFL should have admitted they made a mistake on Thanksgiving and they still owe the Lions and their fans an apology.

bfrsd……It’s not the NBA, I haven’t seen all the Packer games, but I have seen all the Packer vs Viking games. Blown calls favor the Packers about 5 to 1. The 2009 NFC championship game vs the Saints was even worse…….. Sometimes I wonder if the zebras got it in for the Vikes, going back to Drew Pearson whiskey bottle and the Randy Moss water bottle incident. (just kidding)

Okay…so you Vikings fans on here are complaining about the refs in a game your team just won, ironically, and the blooper no catch was called a catch that led directly to a TD, and James Jones pretty obvious TD or at worst down by contact was called a fumble before being correctly overruled. Where in this game did the refs exactly favor the Packers? The biggest call in the entire game that directly led to points was the bad blooper no catch that went against the Packers. What is your point?

The Packers are the spoiled first child of the NFL. These kind of calls go their way 99% of the time. Seeing as how they’ve already gotten their bad call out of the way this season (see: Fail Mary), they can be confident that they can look forward to another 3-4 years of red carpet like service from the NFL and it’s officials.

as previously stated, yes it was a touchdown, but did you not watch the thanksgiving game? Steve Slaton was clearly down on his 75 yard td scamper and Schwartz throws the challenge flag and they decide not to challenge it because of that rule, that’s the point, if they were consistent with their calls then what should of happen is the refs saying they wont challenge the play and Vikings would of had the touchback. That’s the point not wether or not they blew the actual call but the blunder of the technicallity that ensued.

I can’t stand your dirty team but as a fan of football in general, I thought it was awful that Schwartz (and before him, Mike Smith) had that rule used against them. It isn’t about upholding a terrible rule. It’s about getting it right. The refs got it wrong initially and made it right. That’s how it’s supposed to be.

You do realize being a Lions fan that the Vikings fans complain about everything, right? If that was Simpson getting a TD and the refs calling it a fumble, every Viking fan on here would be talking about how the refs purposely blew the first call because they love the Packers. It’s ridiculous.

This isn’t the NBA. All of the 32 teams have calls go for and against them every game and the Packers have actually had more against them this season. You people need to get over your hate for the Packers organization. I’m a Bucks fan and they suck every year. I envy the Lakers organization. I don’t hate on them.
