It’s not just about the first round, genius. It’s about the entire draft. Moving up puts you in a better position (in every round) to get guys who could potentially come in and make a difference.

Not that it would likely make a difference with this coaching staff, assuming they stay. Which brings up another reason winning today potentially hurts the team… the current coaching staff remains largely intact.
