We Eagles fans who follow the team day in and day out, year after year know a lot more about Andy Reid than you non-Eagles fans who are criticizing us. We knew when McNabb was done, and we have known for years that Andy needed to go.

I wish Andy luck, but I don’t see him having much success if he continues to make bizarre decisions like he did with Juan Castillo, Danny Watkins, et al. Andy made a lot of really big mistakes, and I’, glad that he was finally held accountable.

Just remember, the national media and fans of other teams told Philly we were all stupid for wanting McNabb gone, and he would come back to beat us. He didn’t. He fizzled out like a bad fart.

People need to suck it up and realize that Philly fans are not stupid and ignorant. They know football. We’re not saying Reid is awful or that he’s done. We’re saying that its time for him to go elsewhere, just like we said about McNabb. We have much love for Reid AND McNabb. We cheered and applauded McNabb in his first appearance as a Redskin in Philly. Philly fans can recognize, respect, and love an individual and still realize that its time for them to move onto something else.

Ask Pat Burrell, Allen Iverson or even Brian Dawkins. Once an Eagle, ALWAYS an Eagle in our hearts unless you did something to us. We still love and appreciate them.

Andy is a great coach and won’t be unemployed for long, give it a week max.

Andy’s down fall the last 3 seasons is very much linked to him “taking in” Vick. Andy thought he could develop Vick into everything McNabb wasn’t anymore. The thing Reid refused to see was that although Vick has been said to have million dollar talent, it’s attached to 10 cents worth of software running it.

Good luck Andy. I hope I’m wrong but I think we are going to miss you as we now miss McNabb. Although this city will be always be to stubborn & full of scorn to admit it.

And countless playoffs. Didn’t win the big one but at the end of the day I enjoyed the ride and of good memories from it. That’s all that matters in the end, it’s sports, it’s entertainment, it doesn’t change your life unless you’re involved in it on the non-fan level.

1. Identify systemic problems
2. Evaluate personnel
3. Resolve systemic issues and personnel issues
4. Show measured / palpable progress at your annual evaluation

Reid was failed MISERABLY and would receive a POOR evaluation, based on his Job Performance:

1. The Offensive line has been HORRID for YEARS, with no glimpse of improvement.
2. The Defense has equally been horrible. So, instead of bringing in a seasoned, experienced coach to improve the defense, Reid brought in a coach that had NEVER coached defense !
3. Offensive line and Defensive issues were not resolved and are still ongoing.

Minus all the sentimental reasons why fans may still support Reid, he did not meet the obligations of the job / fulfill his Job Description.

Therefore he deserved to be fired due to the inability to meet the requirements of the job…..PERIOD !

I am happy about the move though. Not that I think a new coach can swing in here and fix all of the Eagles’ problems over night, but it is time for a change. Things have gotten stale with him here, and over the last few years the team has only gotten worse. It’s time for Reid and the Eagles to have a fresh start, whether success comes quickly or not.

Good or bad, it will at least be interesting as an Eagles fan to see the direction the team goes from here, and it will be nice to follow Reid as a fan, as I’m sure he’ll land elsewhere and continue to do great things.
