APTitans owner Bud Adams has chosen not to fire coach Mike Munchak or, for now at least, G.M. Ruston Webster.
That same benefit of the doubt wasn’t extended to the guy who hired them, and who was promoted a year ago from G.M. to the team’s senior executive V.P. and Chief Operating Officer.
Yes, Adams took off the mittens and gave a double-barreled middle finger to Mike Reinfeldt.
“He has two more years to go on his contract but I think we’d be better off without him,” Adams said, via Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. “I don’t think he was getting the job done. Mike Reinfeldt is out.”
But what ultimately was Reinfeldt’s “job,” once he put Munchak and Webster in place? And if Reinfeldt hired a head coach who is good enough to stay, didn’t Reinfeldt do his job well enough to stay, too?
It looks like Adams was determined to fire someone, and that Reinfeldt was the one that was the easiest to fire and in turn replace.

Shame on you for making me google Reinfeldt.
I would take Mike Reinfeldt over Bud Adams any freaking time!!
Bud is the new Al Davis
Bud Adams comes off looking like a dummy (granted, a filthy rich one) here.
All season long he’s made comments about being unhappy with the team. He threatened the jobs of every person in the organization, from GM to players down to the cleaning staff. And then… he lets one guy go?
“He has two more years to go on his contract but I think we’d be better off without him,”
“I don’t think he was getting the job done. Mike Reinfeldt is out.”
Please don’t mince words Mr. Adams. How do you really feel?
this guy is senile.
“He has two more years to go on his contract but I think we’d be better off without him,” Adams said,
Geeze, gracefulness isn’t his strong suit I guess.
He’s a funny guy.
He should fire his barber, too.
This is the same bozo owner who forced Vince Young in as his team’s No. 1 draft pick, forced the QB into the starting lineup months later, and then fired the head coach after said quarterback repeatedly quit on his team. (During one of the times the QB checked out, Jeff Fisher started the year 10 and 0 with a backup QB. Fisher was fired two years later.) Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Bud Adams.
Adams is a real nutcase
Nice toupee.
The way he looks,he better win something real quick.
I’m not a Bud liker at all, but if you read the original story, Reinfeldt had absolutely nothing to do in terms of a job and if I was the owner, I’d probably do the same. why does the team need a president. to be honest, I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the job he did anyway. think Webster will do a better job. Bud is here to stay, until death, so you might as well get used to it.

Ain’t that the truth. If that’s his real hair, even for a guy who’s 90 years old, that’s a bad hairdo. If that’s not his real hair, I say on behalf of all folliclely-challenged men everywhere–let go, Bud. If that’s a rug, it’s down there with James Traficante.
Getting back to the subject–You’re keeping the guys who’ve failed, and canning the guy who hired them at your behest. Got it.
You would think a man of his means could afford some White Strips.
Mike Reinfeldt came to Tennessee from Green Bay where he is missed.
Hope the red carpet willl be extended to welcome him back.
Sounds like par for the course for Bud Adams.
And for you guys ripping on Adam’s haircut, I’ve got news for you: This is an improvement over what he looked like back when Bum Phillips was his coach (for the Houston Oilers).
Pretty classless to say that sort of thing.

Classic!
Bud Adams has no clue what he’s doing. Munchak’s team quit on him several times this year, he has an undisciplined team, and he lets one guy go? I don’t get it either.
Come on!
Aren’t Bud’s honest words better than “we wish him well in his future endeavors?”
It’s clear Bud Adams wants the #1 next year.
Adams is the worst owner in pro sports. He doesn’t have a clue and never has. He screwed up, big time, with his dealings with Vince and Fisher. Why anyone would work for this dolt is just beyond me.
It is really hard to see why the Titans are a terrible franchise.
Every time I see a picture of Adams I think of “Weekend at Bernie’s”.
If anyone out there pines for a big time sports executive job, Bud Adams might be “Exhibit A” as to why that might not be such a good idea.
He’ll be in demand, and hopefully back in Green Bay shortly. But with Ron Wolf running the search in San Diego….I could see him landing there.

I dunno about that. He’s got a lot of competition.
Snider,Jerrah, and Herb Kohl come to mind right off the top.
It was Bud who made them draft Vince Young, which was the starting point at forcing out Jeff Fisher. Bud has become a mettlesome old cute who needs to sell the team and go sit down at some rest home somewhere and let the youngsters take over.
I feel for ya Titans fans. When the owner’s the problem, change comes slowly, if ever.
Can we be certain Bud Adams is not actually a zombie?
Senile.
“Shame on you for making me google Reinfeldt.”
Really? You must be a casual football fan. Hmm.
Bud Adams. The man who comforts all those who miss Al Davis.
Bud won it all in 1960 and 1961 and hasn’t done squat since. You’d be senile too from dealing with failure that long.

Don’t forget Loria, who screwed over 2 cities.
That hair looks like something I wash off the sticky buddie after cleaning the sofa. And when did stereo computer screens come tinted?
Come on back to wisconsin and the Packers Mr. Reinfeldt
Jesus, Bud Adams looks like Emperor Palpatine. “He’s the one we have been looking for! THE SITH LORD!”
Mike Reinfeldt will be back in Green Bay
