The redskins paid a lot of money in free ageny to give their team receiving talent long before they knew they would be in line to get RG3. Pierre Garçon was the first player to be signed in free agency out of any team. Last I checked the redskins have less wins without Pierre Garçon than they do without RG3.

The browns don't have a qb issue and haven't for awhile (even their 3rd string guy put up 200+ yards passing against a top teir defense). When they aren't in the top 3 for passes dropped They are probably playoff bound. RG3 in Cleveland would be watching the playoffs from home just like Weeden is as the same guys who drop Weedens passes (or mccoys to make you happy). Would be dropping his too.

Browns were 2 and 4 in the division this season.

Plus he is right on par with his colts comparison. If Brandon Weeden had Reggie Wayne on the other end of his must catch passes and not a rookie the Browns go 8-8 as a worst case scenario this past season including beating the colts.

Heckart was a great drafter but luck had Reggie Wayne, rg3 had garçon and both are in the playoffs. Weeden put up a 3000+ yard season in 15 games with no established receiving talent. Heckart dropped the ball in the free agency department which prevented his offense from winning now. If Indianapolis went into the season with TY Hilton as they’re top receiver instead of Wayne, they’re watching the playoffs from home too.

________________

Another Weeden apologist strikes. Every single excuse you used for him you wouldn't give to McCoy, who had far less to work with. Weeden wasn't an upgrade at all. Upgraded WRs upgraded o-line, and an upgraded RB weren't enough to turn this guy into anything but a pedestrian QB.

Keep making excuses though as you laugh at those stupid fools in DC who "paid too much" for RG3.

I suppose your excuse will be that RG had a better supporting cast and Weeden's just as good as him too.

The fact that the Browns have some good young talent is a major reason why this latest reboot is so discouraging. It would be great if the new coach and GM stuck with the rebuilding program, but that almost never happens. The new GM will want to draft his own players and will get rid of most of the players that the last guy drafted. The new coach will have a new playbook, he'll want to hire his buddies as assistants, and he'll want a new quarterback. Bottom line, all of the progress of the last two years will go up in smoke and another 5-year plan will begin (only to be tossed aside in 2-3 years like the last one). That's why so many of us Browns fans are disgusted by the prospect of yet another reboot. We've seen this movie before, and it doesn't have a happy ending. Unless you're a Steelers fan.

Heckert has done a good job building that team up, with good young talent. He had 26 players with a year or less experience, and their team will be just fine, under a good coach.

I think Shurmur, while not all his fault because of the mess that was there before he came, didn't manage games really well, and cost them in a few situations. I would hope that the new coach would keep Jauron, because he actually has a good, young defense.

One of Andy's national mothpieces like Brian Billick or Steve Marriucci should sit Andy down and advise him to take a $5M paid vacation in 2013. Maybe then he'd listen.

No one is going to pay him >$5M in 2013 so he'd basically be working for free anyway (assuming his Eagles contract has an offset). Look at all the retread coaches that people are clamoring to come out of retirement this year. Andy, with a year to plan, would be tops on that list in 2014.
