I was feeling for you until, as a true Jet fan, you delivered that backhanded compliment about Miami’s QB.

Tannehill is by leaps and bounds, a better QB than Sanchez could ever hope to be.

Rex Ryan. The Tony Romo of coaching. Vastly over-hyped and overrated relative to what he actually accomplishes. My sympathies too go out to all Jets fans. You have to endure this clown for at least the foreseeable future. Too bad.

You forgot RB and LB as needs for the team.

Ultimately, I think the Jets give Rex one more season (since they can’t get rid of Sanchez for another year anyways) and see where things go. In the meantime, they should build the team through the draft with guys that can fit multiple systems – and not just Rex’s. LAST thing the Jets need are guys that fit his system when/if he gets cut loose after next season.

For all the hot air he spews, he’s a coach that players like and want to play for. Plus he’s toned himself down a lot the past couple years.

My sympathy goes out to Jets fans. As a Bear fan, I understand what INEPT is and the family pet system of ownership. Rex must give tremendous foot massages to be able to remain a head coach. He’s a classless human being and you guys deserve better!!

If the Jets want to improve their team in 2013, simply finding a new OC and GM isn’t going to cut it. I still think they have too many holes to address in the draft/FA (OL, WR, QB, TE-Keller is as good as gone, DL, S). They really need to consider cutting ties with Revis. Trade him for something of value while he still has it. Otherwise, they’ll end up continuing their downfall… which may be the plan for another 2 years to draft Johnny Football. Just saying.

By firing the GM and not the head coach we now know what has always been assumed……Rex Ryan runs this organization. At this point why don’t the Jets ship just hit the iceberg and make Rex GM too. It will save them money and will be no different than the puppet they bring in.

The Jets have to now be the most dysfunctional team in the league…..Firing Mangini when Favre was the reason they missed the playoffs, hring and keeping Rex when he has no clue about offense, trading for Tebow for 2 picks and then dont use him, and then the biggest mistakes in my opinion- Not putting good receivers and OL in place……Officially they have replaced the Randy Lerner led Browns as the most incompetently run franchise…..

Actually it kind of makes sense to keep Rex one more year, especially since the Jets are stuck with Sanchez’s salary. Let the new GM have a year to work on personnel changes THEN bring in a new head coach who won’t have quite as much of the old Tannenbaum baggage.

I’ll be surprised to see Tannenbaum get another job in the league. At the first of the season I thought A. J. Smith and Jeff Ireland were the worst NFL GMs hands-down, but I was wrong. It was Tannenbaum and the Jets will be digging out for a long time.

Every AFC East team is celebrating that Wrecks will be around next year!

With any luck he will be around to destroy the confidence and development of a new group of QBs – their coach guaranteeing on their behalf that they’ll win Super Bowls, creating s circus atmosphere etc. etc. etc.

Rex still must be a little sad he didn’t get fired – collecting the remainder of his contract while working at Ladies Footlocker is his dream!
