Russ Brandon’s solo meeting with Ralph Wilson not viewed as good news for Buddy Nix

The Bills already have fired their head coach, even though their G.M. said he was safe.

Now, their G.M. may be in danger, grave or otherwise.

Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reports that team CEO Russ Brandon has traveled to Detroit to meet with owner Ralph Wilson.  The fact that Brandon went alone is being viewed as bad news for General Manager Buddy Nix.

If so, we should find out soon enough.

Here’s your next headline: “Nix nixed!”

A source with knowledge of the situation has confirmed that Wilson simply told him a story about the time he wore an onion on his belt because it was the style at the time.

Precisely what criteria can Buddy Nix cite for the idea of keeping him around?

I love Ralph as he has done a lot for Buffalo, but let’s face it he is 94 and really doesnt pay much attention to the team. Brandon as CEO makes most of these decisions for him and advises him on such.

Brandon is in Detroit to provide a reccomendation to Ralph (which he will agree with) on the Bills direction moving forward. I can’t say if thats good or bad for Buddy…but as was said…we will find out soon enough.

Hopefully its turns out bad for Russ instead. this way he wont have to worry about moving all the ‘significant inventory’ every week. God his voice drives me nuts

this team will never be able to turn it around as long as ralph wilson owns it. i love the guy but he’s lost touch and how to put together a winning product

Nix is retiring after the Draft. Which in other words means that he is getting fired, the nice version. Doug Whaley will be taking over the G.M. spot to replace Nix. As for the Head Coaching position, rumors are that Kyle Shanahan is their target. I’m not yet sold on the guy, but if he is anything like his father, I’ll learn to like him. Go Bills!!!! #BillsMafia

If he’s anything like his father then he’ll be completely overrated and won’t be able to win unless he has an all pro QB

*Mr. Wilson lives in Grosse Pointe Shores (along w/ his good friend Mr. Ford), not Detroit.

Early reports are Grimm and Whisenhunt will be interviewed. Both were at Pittsburgh while Whaley was there,

If he does get fired, I hope they hire another guy with a thick southern accent.

No matter what he says, it’ll sound like the warden from Cool Hand Luke. Never get tired of that.
