Bears general manager Phil Emery is proving to be open-minded in his pursuit of job candidates.

According to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, the Bears have asked permission to interview Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillis for their head coaching job.

The 47-year-old DeCamillis has also coached for the Jaguars, Falcons, Giants and Broncos,

He’s the second special teams coach they’ve been linked to, along with Atlanta’s Keith Armstrong.

They’re also interviewing Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and Buccaneers offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan.

The success of John Harbaugh in Baltimore has made it easier for special teams coaches to get notice, but their broad-based approach to the job helps ease the transition to coaching an entire roster, since they basically work with everyone besides the quarterbacks anyway.
