Who in the name of Abe Gibron is Joe DeCamillis? that name sounds like a foot fungus. come on Emery & Virginia, hire a top 5 Coach that would drool to be the coach of Da Bears! Get a Fire & Brimstone coach ala Iron Mike that don’t take no S#@t from the Prima Donna players, or the Media know-it-alls. Chicago is a big TV Market, Hire a Big name coach.

A not very well known guy that has the ability to bring together a locker room and keep it focused might be what the Bears need much more than a high profile guy.

I keep saying this, but Emery needs to look at Gus Malzahn who’s an offensive-minded coach who just took the HC position at Auburn. This guy has been moving up the ranks quickly and has a phenomenal career so far. Even though he doesn’t have NFL experience, this guy could easily transition into the NFL and start turning ball clubs around.

Mark my words, despite the lip service that money is no object…the Bears will hire on the cheap. It’s just media spin brought on by their PR department.

Joe DeCamillis? Really? Why because Emery worked with him in ATL? Same with Keith Armstrong and add the Mikes (McCoy/Sullivan) to this list and none of them scream homerun hire.

Disappointed so far.

Please take him in any capacity, he has been a terrible Special Teams coach for the Cowboys. Blocked punts vs the Jets, Cards, and the Seahawks the past 2 years, plus numerous other mistakes.

Yeah but John Harbaugh was groomed for nine years under Andy Reid, and had to take the title of secondary coach in his last season in Philly to get a shot to interview. Harbaugh was very much groomed, and an endorsement from Belichick didn’t hurt either. For assistants who aren’t coordinators looking to make the jump it really comes down to who they know, and who is giving them accolades.

Does DeCamillis have any particular record of success, or is he just well-publicized like so many guys who’ve been associated with Invincible Dallas?

Being a special team coach, BTW, doesn’t mean you know offense or defense. It means you work with a lot of guys, that’s all.

Is the Bears GM throwing darts or what?

Last I checked, the Bears have (had?) one of the best special teams coaches in the league with Dave Toub, who is also more than ready to make the leap to the big time.
