When announcing that cornerback Charles Woodson has been cleared to return from a broken collarbone, Packers coach Mike McCarthy opted to say nothing about receiver Jordy Nelson’s status until Wednesday, when the team’s first official injury report of the week comes due.
But these matters have a way of percolating to the surface. According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Nelson was held out of Tuesday’s session with a knee injury.
Ditto for tight end Jermichael Finley, whose eye swelled shut during Sunday’s loss to the Vikings after he was poked in it.
Also not practicing were defensive lineman Jerel Worthy and receiver Jarrett Boykin, both of whom also were injured on Sunday.
The good news is that receiver Randall Cobb was a “full go” following a Week 16 ankle sprain that kept him out of the regular-season finale.
The Packers host the Vikings on Saturday night, in the teams’ first playoff meeting since Randy Moss rubbed his rump on a Lambeau Field goalpost eight Januaries ago.
