The Chargers were rebuffed in their efforts to interview Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell about their general manager position, but they have landed interviews with two other candidates.
Multiple reports indicate the Chargers have asked for and received permission to interview Colts vice president of football operations Tom Telesco and Cardinals vice president of player personnel Steve Keim. Telesco has been in the Colts organization since 1998 and was promoted to his current position after six years as the team’s director of player personnel.
Keim has been with the Cardinals since 1999 and survived Black Monday while General Manager Rod Graves and coach Ken Whisenhunt were fired. Keim routinely pops up on lists of general manager candidates and was up for the Rams job that ultimately went to Les Snead last year.
The Chargers hired Ron Wolf to consult on their search for A.J. Smith’s replacement. Jimmy Raye, the team’s current director of player personnel is also thought to be in the mix for the job.

They should give Wolfe the job, if he’ll willing.
Wolf not Wolfe
Wolfie
Has anyone heard about Bill Polian being mentioned as a GM somewhere?
Wolf was under Al Davis for a chunk of time and they had much success.
Davis-Wolf-Thompson-McKenzie… The RAIDERS will be OK, Big Reg will get the franchise righted and back to relevance sooner than later.
if you hire Tommy Telescope, I guard entree you will get Chisissy Polian right behing him.
Jimmy Raye is the best candidate. He was the scout for AJ when they were drafting all those great draft picks like. I think he only had one bad pick and that was the current RB (who would be great if he could stay healthy). A.J. didn’t do it all himself. He had a great scout team.
Picks like LT, Mike Turner, Weddle, “Lights Out”, just to name a few. Raye is the wise decision.
Who would want anyone from the Cardinals organization?
I’m sure everyone is lining up for this job, so they can report to John Spanos.
