When the powers that be calibrate on field performance vs pay, how much of a bump up will Morris receive… Over a million?

Well it’s not like he’s gotten great workload against the Skins seeing as how he was injured in 2 of the 4 games he’s played against them.

He averages only 11 carries a game against them, but yet still got about 5.4 yards per touch (carries + receptions), which is pretty good for a RB.

Then again, when he dominates the rest of the league, I don’t see how that even matters that much. Alfred Morris could be the next Olandis Gary or Reuben Droughns. If the Redskins were smart they’d trade him for a hall of famer like Champ Bailey instead of the other way around.

Morris > Peterson? Let’s get real!

Morris gets to play with RG3 drawing almost all of the attention, while AP plays with Christian Ponder (a guy who had 3 games with total passing yardage totaling in the 50 to 60 yard range). Oh, and AP still outgained Morris by 500 yards.

I have to say, Redskins and Steelers fans are the biggest morons posting on this site.

I love that Morris still drives a beater to work every day. The other day a reporter asked him if he feels like a star. He scoffed and said “I’m not a star and I’ll never be one. I’m just Alfred Morris.”

Shanahan excelled at getting production out of RBs in Denver, and he’s taken that same blocking scheme to Washington. Not taking anything away from Morris, who is clearly taking advantage of the opportunity given to him, but think back to Mike Anderson, Terrell Davis, Reuben Dreughns, Olandis Gary, Clinton Portis, and Tatum Bell…all backs who had over 1000 yards for Shanahan when he was in Denver.

Only Portis and Davis were ever considered true top notch rbs. Morris is approaching that level already. Peterson is clearly the best back in the NFL right now which is amazing considering the injury he’s coming off, but don’t sleep on Morris. He’s not going to beat you with the homerun, he’ll beat you with a bunch of 10 and 20 yard runs. Always falls forward.

Although I think it is too soon to call Morris the best back in football, he is certainly not getting the attention that he has earned with his efforts this year. Comparing him to AP is a little extreme, but I would argue he is just as capable as Beast Mode (conveniently they face each other this week).

My only wonder is how this Frank Gore made the vote over this kid. Then again, that’s what makes football so great. The rise of the no name players. The question remains, regardless of what happens the rest of this year, does Shanny have his new Terrell Davis? Time will tell. Excited to watch this kid develop his career.

I guess Morris will be the new numerator next year.

Morris reminds me a lot of Riggo. His performance in the Dallas game was amazing. Dallas could see he was going to get the ball. Us fans could see he was going to get the ball. The announcers could see he was going to get the ball. Stevie Wonder could see he was going to get the ball. But nobody could do anything about it.
This young man is a beast. And what’s even more impressive is that he’s a beast who is a really, really nice, level-headed, mature young man. Shanahan struck gold with this guy
