Much as it kills me to say so, I gotta side with the Jets on this one. Its not as if the PFWA has a right to compel the Jets to talk. There are no freedom of information or first amendment issues in this situation, Complaining (whining) to the league seems petty, particularly when the Jets have not (yet) missed the league’s deadline.

You cant win with the carnivores in the media. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. They don’t give a crap about anything as long as they have a story to write. The Jets don’t want to talk to you because you’re a group of evil hungry bastards who would rat out your own mothers for a story. All you media people do is twist and nit-pick everything anyone in the organization says so Rex and the rest of them has had enough of you. They are doing the smart thing and (finally) dealing with their many issues internally, without involving the media, which is the way it should be.

He is a third string player, at best. He is listed as a QB but cant read defences of throw a ball consistently on target after years of coaching at the NFL level.
He IS NOT a NFL caliber QB no matter how much you love him, and he never will be.

The Jets have just as much ethics as Tebust does if he doesn’t return some of the money he was paid as a first round draft pick to make it all the way to personal punt protector, and screwed that assignment as well.

If the league doesn’t seriously punish the Jets for this than every member of the PFWA should boycott the Tuesday presser…and perhaps the next several press conferences the Jests hold. If this were a player the league would waste no time fining him for not being available to the press as required.

So they hold a press conference Friday and pull a Belichick: “No comment, that’s a silly question, etc., etc. ad nauseum.” Nothing accomplished, just a waste of time.

Sort of what one Federal Judge said in upholding prosecutorial discretion: even if they are forced to prosecute, there is no way to ensure that they don’t just lay down on the job.

Shouldn’t they file a complaint AFTER the Jets fail to uphold their responsibility? Sounds like they are jumping the gun and making assumptions that aren’t proven as of yet. If I were the Jets I would get something done within the deadline and then sue the PFWA for filing a fraudulent complaint that had no basis.

They should have to pay a fine for smearing a team without basis if the Jets do in fact get this handled in time.
