Yes and No. Yes because they are all facts. No because you look at the team the Chargers had in 2006 from QB, TE, WR, etc… Many more weapons on that Charger team. That being said, LT was more of an “all-around” back than AP. He was able to do it all. Whereas AP excels in running but is average in the passing game and needs work on his blocking and picking up the blitz.

While LT’s Touchdowns are impressive high number of touchdowns are a function of the offense for a running back more so than beastly skills. Backs in high powered offenses get more opportunities to score red zone or goal line touchdowns. If they are the number one back and don’t have a goal line back to volture the goal line carries they can put up impressive touchdown totals.

That season LT played in a much better offense than Peterson has played in this season. I think when you take into account what AP has had to work with offensively this is one of the greatest season a running back has had. Game after game he’s faced 8 men fronts and consistently delivered.

Number of rushing TDs is irrelevant because you’re often giving the ball to a different guy for short yard TDs.

If CJ had gotten two more than Peterson… while we’re at it lets assume Peterson had gotten two more… then he breaks Dickerson’s record. Saying that isn’t any more silly than what you wrote about CJ.

Deal with the realities of life rather than the impossible “what if’s” you’ll be happier in the end and fewer people will think you’re a nut.

AP had no quarterback most the season, Percy on IR during the best stretch in NFL history, and defenses game planning to stop him.

One Defense game planned to stop Alfred Morris and he had 87 yards, 3.2 yard per carry. Oh weird, Kirk Cousins was QB that game.

AP > Alfred Morris this year, next year and for both of their careers.

Alfred Morris got robbed. It’s quite alright though…Peterson will be on his couch watching Alfred win the SB in 34 days.

I like Alfred Morris, but he’s no Adrian Peterson.

Having said that, unlike others, I actually look forward to reading the crazy stuff you post. You never disappoint in your ability to say something laughable.

Keep it up and don’t let those who think, perhaps know, you’re a little off deter you from sharing with the rest of us what the voices you hear are telling you.

Comparing the “what ifs” is pretty pointless. Spillers average yards a carry may state thats what he would have done. But, that doesnt factor in the abuse those next 140 carries takes on a body. There is a good chance that spiller would not have been able to keep up that kind of pace with more carries. I remember after CJ2K ran for 2,000 yards,and there was serious arguement on here about him being better than AP. Then what happened to him? Regardless of which team you cheer for, and no matter what a players stats “supposedly” would have been if he had the same amount carries, AP had the best rushing season i’ve ever seen, and comparing any back in the league right now to him is a moot point. He’s the best. No discussion necessary.

Morris looks like he’ll be a great back. Check back in 5 years to see if he has Peterson’s consistency and durability. Better yet, put him on a team where he is the entire offense and 9 guys on defense can key on him, and see if he can carry the team as Peterson does the Vikings. Fortunately for Morris, he is not in that situation. Fortunately for Morris as well, he has not had to fight back from an injury like Peterson did. Sorry, but comparisons between the two aren’t very logical at this point.

On the other hand, Shanny has a history with flash in the pan backs. Morris does benefit from the overall uniqueness of the Redskin offense and defenses keying on RGIII. Let’s see how he’s doing in a couple years once teams have seen the read-option a few more times. FTTR.

At this point, Adrian has done it for several years. Most of the time being the focal point of the defense. And oh yeah, he does play several teams besides the Redskins, and in general most fans look at overall stats…not sure if everyone here understands that.

AP accounted for 42.9% of his team’s total offense.
His rushing total is 30% more than the number two rusher in the league.

This is one of the greatest example of a rb putting his team on his back and carrying them to the playoff.

I don’t understand why Manning is the frontrunner. His numbers are similar to other top QBs such as Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady. He is no more or less important to his team than thise two yet he gets more pub for MVP.

If AP can’t win MVP this year in which he was 10 yards away from breaking the single season rushing record and in December rushed for more yards than any back has ever rushed fir in a month (when his team needed his performance the most to get in the playoffs)…..if he can’t win MVP then we’re saying no back can.

Rarely do you get 5 games in a month.

He was being eased in after returning from ACL surgery. Imagine what he would have done if he would have been 100% at the beginning of the year. He had 1,598 yards over the last 10 games, which would be 12 yards short of leading the league.

PFT listed Sullivan (Center) as a Pro-Bowl Snub, and Kalil only gave up 2 sacks and had something like 2-3 penalties all year. He’s a future All-Pro for sure.
