Dorsey in demand

Dorsey

He has been a loyal and long-term employee of the Packers.  And he soon could be getting his shot.

Packers director of operations John Dorsey is in demand, in at least two locations.  Per a league source, the G.M. position in Kansas City will be his if he wants it — and if the Chiefs nail down a deal with coach Andy Reid.

That means Scott Pioli would be out, and that Reid would have significant influence over the hiring of a personnel executive who, as owner Clark Hunt said earlier this week, will report directly to the owner along with the head coach.

But Dorsey has other options.  Dorsey will interview with the Jets as early as Friday; this confirms a report from CBSSports.com.

It’s unclear where Dorsey stands in relation to other candidates to succeed Mike Tannenbaum in New York.  As we understand it, the Jets are casting a very wide net in search of someone who will welcome the opportunity to work with Rex Ryan.

Given the current status of the roster, they may need a bigger net.

I would think Dorsey would be also in the running for the San Diego GM spot. Especially with Wolf helping in the CM search. I hope the Packers don’t loose another good person that has come through the ranks with the Packers

Oh, I get it now… I’m sure I’m not the only Chiefs fan who thought this meant Glenn Dorsey was in demand and responded with, “Huh?”

Dorsey is also benefitting from the halo around John Schneider who left the Packers and has completely revamped the Seahawks w/ Pete Carroll.

If Andy Reid runs a franchize with the GM reporting to him, said franchize will never win a superbowl. I hope this guy gets a fair shot to be a GM and doesnt have to work under a Head coach…lol Talk about dysfunctional, if I were him id rather stay in Greenbay.

For some reason, I read the headline and thought Ken Dorsey was coming out of retirement, lol.

Dorsey would be better off staying in GB than going to either Jets or Chiefs where Rex and Reid will want to wield the power and Dorsey would become the “fall guy”. If Dorssey is talented, other opportunities will come but why take a huge gamble on Reid or Rex Ryan derailing a promising career.

Patriot Way …. led to a no.1 overall draft pick.

Patriot Way only works … if you’ve got Bill and Brady.

The Packer way meanwhile… Reid and McNabb were pretty successful – Holmgren/Schneider both made Seattle relevant – Mooch in San Fran – Miami seems to be moving up – idk…. just saying.
    Ron Wolf’s GM Tree > Bill Belichick’s Coaching/GM tree.
