As the top seed in the AFC, the Broncos will have the weekend off before resuming their quest for the Super Bowl.

Their offensive coordinator will not be spending the weekend watching potential opponents in the Wild Card games however. Mike McCoy is expected to interview with the Bills and Cardinals on Saturday before meeting with the Bears and Eagles on Sunday. McCoy admitted Thursday that he might be less than optimally prepared for some of the interviews because he’s been focusing on the Broncos.

“You just have to go in there and be yourself. That is the No. 1 thing. It’s an honor to be considered for those jobs. It goes to show the type of players we have here and the organization we have here. As coaches we are all products of the players we have and the other guys we work with. We’ll see what happens,” McCoy said, via Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. “Everyone has individual goals as a coach, as a player, but it is team first. We still have a lot left here. Hopefully, one day I will become a head coach. There is still a lot of football left here and we’ll see what happens down the road.”

McCoy also talked about not letting any outside talk about who’s getting what job impact him, something he learned while interviewing for the Miami job last year. Given all that he’s already got on his plate right now, it would seem hard to find the time to listen to much chatter anyway.
