Bjoern Werner, a Florida State defensive end who is regarded as a potential Top 10 pick, has decided to leave school and enter April’s NFL draft.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Werner was born and raised in Germany and only began playing American football when he became an exchange student in Connecticut five years ago, but he has quickly picked up the game and is a naturally aggressive player with a quick first step.

Werner had 13 sacks in 2012 and 24 sacks in his three-year Florida State career.

Two other Florida State players, junior cornerback Xavier Rhodes and running back Chris Thompson (a senior who could have applied for a medical exemption to play a fifth year in the NCAA) have also said they will enter this year’s draft.
