John Dorsey has Kansas City links beyond Andy Reid

john-dorsey-jets AP

Florio mentioned last night how in-demand Packers director of football operations John Dorsey has become.

But with multiple reports linking him to what seems like the inevitable Andy Reid hiring in Kansas City, there are multiple reasons that’s the a possibility.

Not only do Reid and Dorsey have a long-standing relationship from Reid’s days with the Packers, there’s a personal tie as well.

Via Jason Wilde of ESPNWisconsin.com, Dorsey’s wife Patricia A. Sexton-Dorsey, is a lawyer in a Kansas City-based law firm.

She has lived and worked in nearby DePere while he’s been working in Green Bay, however.

Dorsey had previously cited keeping his kids in familiar settings when turning down job opportunities, but his sons from his first marriage are both in their 20s, so it’s not like that’s tying him there now.

Was I Mr. Dorsey, I wouldn’t hang my hat on Andy Reid’s coaching ability.

He’s good at his job…if they let him do it….he’d make KC a winner.

Dorsey would be Reid’s boss and he won’t won’t go 14 years with the same coach without a sniff at the SB as happened in Philly.

Dorsey would be a big loss for GB, but the administrators in GB, just like the players, are next man up.

Dorsey would be wise to wait it out in Green Bay until Ted Thompson hangs it up. Plus, what GM wants to be 2nd hire behind the head coach?

Must not have watched SB39 then–plus he had 5 NFCCG appearances in an 8 year span.

If John Dorsey goes, look for Mike Reinfeld to land back in Green Bay.

Like the Grand Hotel, they arrive; they depart. But they always come back.

    That’s Reinfeldt!
