Andy Reid GM? Yikes!

Dawkins: drafted three years before Reid arrived, Reid let him walk two years too early, never replaced his position or his leadership;
Trotter: Drafted by Rhodes, Reid let him walk to Redskins then had to admit his mistake and bring him back;
Hugh Douglas: Rhodes traded for him, Reid let him walk to Jaguars then had to admit his mistake and bring him back.

Nice attempt but Dawkins wasn’t drafted by Reid and Douglas was a Jets pick…One of the biggest mistakes he made was letting Dawkins walk. Reid is a terrible talent evaluator. He refused to draft linebackers and WRs for many years. Remember James Trash and Todd Stinkston. He believed his system could plug in any WR to perform. Ha ha ha…His drafts have been awful…especially in the last 4 years. Reid benefited from a weak NFC east from 2000-2004. He was terribly outcoached in the Superbowl. Doesn’t anyone remember the Superbowl where the Eagles couldn’t run the hurry up offense ? Time outs and clock management…..ha ha ha.

Reid hired Jim Washburn to run the Wide 9 before hiring a D coordinator last year….what D coordinator would want to come to Philly after being told what scheme they had to run ? …..No one….that’s why he reached to make his buddy Juan Castillo a D coordinator despite zero D coaching experience above the high school level. We watched this “gotta do a better job”mess up close….KC will find out soon enough as this arrogant, smarter than everyone in the room coach attempts to revive KC.

He’ll probably come off at the opening press conference as a jovial, fun loving guy as he makes a fat joke or two but that will flip quickly.

Maybe Reid has a better press agent.

The man has failed as a HC and as a GM.

Yep, drafting McNabb and hiring Jim Johnson to coach defense were the best things Andy Reid have ever done. Here we are 14 years later and that’s easily the nicest thing one could say about him. The Eagles crashed and burned as soon as Jim Johnson died. Who will carry him in KC?

Early on he realized he needed help – and got it – from several very good coaches. As his self-image grew, he fooled himself into thinking he could pick / sign / hire anyone and his genius could raise them up; all culminating with the worst Eagles record since before he left Green Bay.

Still wish him well – in spite of the absolute hell this season was for we Eagles fans. If you didn’t watch, first… thank your lucky stars; but

And he is an actual coach – unlike that Crennel guy KC just got rid of. But I predict his 5 years – if he gets that far – will parallel his years in Philly. Quick success which will have everyone excited (hey KC’s got some ProBowl defensive players, Jamaal Charles, maybe Bowe…) then – as he puts his ‘mark’ on the team, more and more troubled players (his Jesus complex started with TO and only got worse with Vick and his ultimate submission to MeSean).

and umm.. jsally430 – Dawkins and Trotter were on the team before Reid arrived. he did preside over Trotter’s release (and subsequent return); but the handling of Dawkins – while Denver overpaid to draw him away – sucked the heart out of the D – maybe the whole team. (I suspect if Reid were making decisions for the Ravens, Ray Lewis would have been released a couple years back). I’ll give you McNabb over RastaMan; and Hugh Douglas was a nice free agent pickup but Sheldon Brown? you’re supporting personnel strengths with Sheldon Brown?

In fourteen years, the Eagles did sign some nice players. But review their drafts the last 4 – 5 years when Andy had ‘final say’ (how much input Heckert had early on, or Joe Banner later will never be known for sure) and you can see why they’ve quickly joined the dregs in 4-12 land.

So what G.M. in his right mind would CONSIDER stepping into that formula?

At least Reid will get several “first overall picks”, the next few years, with that scenario… Arrowhead is going to be a sad place, for the next half-decade.

Douglas was a trade, and it was a trade under Rhodes. Dawk and Trot were both picks, but Rhodes picks

He also had nowhere near full control when he took McNabb, he was a first year HC taht was just an assistant (not even a coordinator). It’s not like Williams went next, he went #6. Just because the Philly media wantd him doesn’t mean it was some phsycic pick. Reid knew he wasn’t going to run the ball, why draft a RB with your first pick?

Hey Jsally of all those players Andy Reid Drafted only two of them Mcnabb and Sheldon Brown. The rest were drafted during the Ray Rhodes era. He reached on many players.

Frustrating play caller- even in good years. Reid never adjusted to use the run until he had a rookie at QB (Foles).
