Congrats to the classy Pack fans. The game was a total let down with Ponder being out.

The Pack didn't shut out AD, but they stayed in their lanes & effectively contained him. Even more impressive was the semblance of a running game & the check down passes to the RB. The game plan was like a Laker game where Kobe "gets his teammates going" before taking over in 2nd half (circa a few years ago). I don't think McCarthy "took his foot off the gas" as some have intimated. His run/pass mix was working, killing clock & with a lead against a 1 dimensional opponent without a QB, he managed the game well with minimal risk of turning the ball over. Well coached.

This would have been a different game with Ponder. Vikes still would have been dogs, but more importantly it would have been much more fun to watch.

I do not think that Ponder would have made a big difference but Webb did the best he could do and I wonder what the Packers would do if their double check qb went down?
--------------------------------------------------
It's amazing how many Vikings fans have said what would the Packers do without Rodgers like it's some sort of comparison to Ponder being out. The accurate comparison is Peterson being out, not Ponder.

The Packers would roll the Vikings if Peterson and Rodgers were both out. Either way, Rodgers is the best player on either team because the QB position is more important than the RB position, and the rest of the Packers team is deeper and better than the Vikings.

All things being equal/healthy; the Packers beat the Vikings at least 80% of the time. You give the Vikings Ponder and Harvin back, and you give the Packers half their offensive line back, Nick Perry, Desmond Bishop, Jerel Worthy, on and on and on, and the Packers win almost every game.

I have officially adopted Packers stories as my second favorite on PFT. I have never seen such a dichotomous mix of fans. You have the classy fans who are knowledgeable about football, and then the pathetic superfans who talk a ton of trash and think their team is invincible.

Christian Ponder is bad, but Joe Webb isn’t even a quarterback. Excuses?!?! Seriously? Not having a quarterback is the best excuse for losing a playoff game. How many times does this Packers team get gift wrapped presents in the playoffs with QBs? You beat a seriously one dimensional team in the Vikings. The Bills could have game planned that.

I love sandblaster’s post season “prediction” after beating a garbage QB. Isn’t this the same guy who predicted a GB win by 30 points last week??? Green Bay has a serious hole and its called defense. You can beat up on one dimensional conservative offenses all you like, but when you face a real threat like Atlanta or my Patriots, your porous defense will fold like a deck of cards.

---

lol, ok idiot. The Packers were 7th best in points allowed. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, much like most Pats fans. You talk about other fans thinking their team is invincible and then you say that the Packers will fold like a deck of cards if they play your team. Are all idiot mama's boys hypocrites, or just you?

The only reason the Patriots aren't losing this weekend is because they aren't playing. Since it was proven that your team cheated, you haven't won anything.

The end.

Yeah for the last five weeks all we heard was AP this and AP that, can't stop the greatest ever, AP and Webb are gonna combine to hang 400 yards on you, blah blah blah. Now all of a sudden it's "Well all you did was beat a one dimensional team." Okay, fine, whatever helps you get to sleep.
Vikings had a much better year than anyone expected, should be happy about that and hoping they aren't this year's Detroit flash in the pan. Most of their fans are, I think. Those like Veence, well sorry about reality, but it does rear its ugly head from time to time.

Congrats on the win Pack fans (at least the non-smug ones above) -- would still probably have lost with Ponder, but the game might have been closer. The Pack is the better team. I do find it interesting, however, that some are celebrating the fact that AP had "only" 99 yards.

If Harrell had to play last night - Packers still win. That's the difference between GB and MN. There's a TALENT game there at every position but RB.

For the past 2 weeks all we've heard is how the Vikings ARE AP and how AP was going to single handedly beat the Packers.

Well you HAD AP and did nothing in the playoffs. 40 yards in the first quarter and then 59 in the next 3 with 1/2 of those coming in garbage time when Fraiser was running the ball, down 3 scores with less than 10 minutes left in the game.

I have officially adopted Packers stories as my second favorite on PFT. I have never seen such a dichotomous mix of fans. You have the classy fans who are knowledgeable about football, and then the pathetic superfans who talk a ton of trash and think their team is invincible.

Christian Ponder is bad, but Joe Webb isn't even a quarterback. Excuses?!?! Seriously? Not having a quarterback is the best excuse for losing a playoff game. How many times does this Packers team get gift wrapped presents in the playoffs with QBs? You beat a seriously one dimensional team in the Vikings. The Bills could have game planned that.

I love sandblaster's post season "prediction" after beating a garbage QB. Isn't this the same guy who predicted a GB win by 30 points last week??? Green Bay has a serious hole and its called defense. You can beat up on one dimensional conservative offenses all you like, but when you face a real threat like Atlanta or my Patriots, your porous defense will fold like a deck of cards.

As suspected, maybe 3 or 4 percent of Vikings fans can just accept defeat.

The majority just try to bring down packers fans after a playoff win. I guess if that's all you have... You don't have very much.

As for the niners, I sincerely hope they think like most of you fans, because they'll get torched by the hurry up offense. The rams and Seahawks showed everyone how to beat the niners.

Brady put up so many points going no huddle, and Rodgers and his weapons are better.

Packers will host/win the NFC championship game and beat whatever poor lamb the AFC puts up for slaughter.

Packers won a playoff game they should have won. Not a big deal. Vikes made the playoffs when everyone said they wouldn’t win more than 6 games. That’s the story and it’s a big deal! Congrats to Les Fraizer and his team. Looking forward to taking back the NFC North next season and winning enough games to get the 1st round bye. Speaking of bye. 49er’s will beat the Packers. Bye bye!

The Vikings never won a Superbowl and 2012 was not their year again. Once they made the playoffs, you can bet the house that they would lose, like the sun rising in the east, its that dependable.

The rest of the NFC North is rejoicing that Webb failed as badly as he did. That means the Vikings will put more faith in Ponder than he ever deserves and as long as Ponder is the starting QB, the Vikings will always fall short.

Wow. Green Bay limped by a one-dimensional offense to advnace to the next round of the playoffs. Yet Packer nation takes it as a sign of invincability and an excuse to crap on Minnesota fans.
