Bengals safety Robert Sands, who spent the entire 2012 season on injured reserve, was arrested on Friday.

According to KYPost.com, Sands was accused of assaulting his wife and charged with assault and domestic violence in Florence, Kentucky. WLWT reports that Sands’ wife was treated at an area hospital for minor injuries.

Police say the alleged assault took place on Friday morning in the couple’s home.

A fifth-round draft pick out of West Virginia in 2011, Sands played in one game as a rookie and then spent all of 2012 on injured reserve with a chest injury.

  12. oldirtyman says: Jan 6, 2013 5:51 PM

Who cares? All I saw today in the pregame is stories about a LB that stabbed a man in a limo, lost his white suit, and lied to the police. Moral character is looked over in the NFL

The Bengals are this centuries Raiders, the only difference is that the Raiders won three superbowls and beat people on the field.

As sellout1983 said, I’ve never heard of this guy. So some marginal, non-contributer is accused of something. So what? And are we really pretending like the rest of the NFL doesn’t have a crime blotter clicking like crazy over the past year? Really?

  23. cardsfann1 says: Jan 6, 2013 8:43 PM

Well its time to reset the days without an arrest timer… 14 days was a lifetime considering these guys in the NFL…
