Bengals’ Robert Sands arrested, accused of assaulting his wife

Bengals safety Robert Sands, who spent the entire 2012 season on injured reserve, was arrested on Friday.

According to KYPost.com, Sands was accused of assaulting his wife and charged with assault and domestic violence in Florence, Kentucky. WLWT reports that Sands’ wife was treated at an area hospital for minor injuries.

Police say the alleged assault took place on Friday morning in the couple’s home.

A fifth-round draft pick out of West Virginia in 2011, Sands played in one game as a rookie and then spent all of 2012 on injured reserve with a chest injury.
